  • i discoverd this feature in 2012 and i have been using firefox since 2008 :P

  • Couldn't you just open up a new window and organize your tabs in two different windows? E.g., you can read news on one window with as many tabs as you want, and do shooping on another window with as many tabs as you want.

  • I can't wait for this. Probably going to be my favorite add-on for firefox.

  • actually, I always have a TON of tabs open which gets very problematic, especially since I'm multi-tasking and each task usually has at least two tabs. In Opera, I use the tab stacker quite a bit and it's handy to organize tabs in groups. Personally, I like the feature. It may not have any real use for some (or most) people, but it helps at least me keep things in order. So no complaints here.

  • Why would you have so many tabs open? I don't get it. AT MOST I have 5 separate tabs open.

If you release 4 new verions in 2011 (announced 8 feb.) this can destroy the last jocker you have - add-ons, becouse they validate to specific FF version.

Concentrate on speed, seperate proceses for tabs, x64, prevent memory leaks. Thats all what 80% users want. GL

Guys (firefox team) this enormous amount of concepts (to do list) can destroy you. I'm serious, how many percentage of users opening 20+ tabs and keep some of them "for later"

Why do you concentrate on those things that can be done by add-ons?

Do you want become Opera? All-in one?

I'm already immigrated to Chrome side, know why? Because of speed, because all tabs - separate proceses, and it have all extensions i need.

  • With TreeTab extension, Firefox was ahead for hardcore tab users ( manage 200+ tabs? easy! ), now with Tab Candy, TabSense(chrome), Tab Stacking ( opera ) hierarchical tab users can finally anticipate good tab management solution in near future

  • don't want to be mean but... reallly, how useful could this be?... i mean, come on, it's only a cosmetic change!

  • or you could just use multiple windows....

  • @Delus1on77 NEVER XD

  • sounds like your life is overly complicated by mundane bullshit that no one should give a fuck about, how about instead of being a consumer whore idiot who cares about having 5 thousand browser windows open, you get a fucking life?

  • nice

  • WOW ... this really looks great. I gotta check this out for sure. Thanks for areally great video overview. Nice job. 6 stars if I could.

  • firefox rocks!!!

  • This is grate!! I WAS WAITING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

When Tap Candy will be added to firefox it will be revolution in maneging tabs!

    Greate job:)

  • @81sergiusz really? this feature - tab grouping with search - already in Opera ("windows" in sidebar). Firefox just stole this and made more "eye candy". mozilla integrated this eye candy feature only because they need something visually new in new version.

  • pfff @ this guy, maybe if you used your OS once in a while you'd just implement the folder/file tree-list paradigm in a sidebar for arranging "tabs" with instead of trying to reinvent the wheel in an square shape (の_の)

  • Or we can just use bookmark folders instead of tens of opened tabs that just occupy space in memory and require significant time to manage :)

  • The concepts in development look really good. Meta groups and shared workspaces would be excellent for development work.

  • Um, why not just open a new Firefox window insted? If you need more space...

  • wow... that's perfect idea, but you have a long way to do. good luck

  • reminds me of the jokes "how many X does it take to change a lightbulb". I'm happy with the ability rearrange tabs in the tab bar in Opera. I don't want to do that on a desktop like environment, that would take ages, longer than the time I'm visiting most websites actually. what a waste of time.

  • This guy apparently does not know how to open a new window in Firefox, much less drag and drop tabs between them.

  • I guess Tree Style Tab will be even easier to use and will make even more sense.

  • People i do some kind of that stuff when i group my bookmarks and put them on the favorite bar. And i use only when i need, consumes less memory and keeps it organized, so you really need all that stuff opened at the same time?

Now i have 17 tabs diveded in two windows of my chrome, i divided then by dutys and pleasures (in my mind), thats is just good and uncomplicated to me. I think that a better ideia if you create a new tab bar with the groups on a higher level on the screen. Fast use.

  • Well maybe i liked de chrome too much but a think that all that stuff seems to be so deep in organization that i may not ever use it but all right keep evolving firefox i still use you sometimes.

    BUT REALLY THIS IS UNECESSARY!

You will lose so much time on it thats gona be anoying!

How much memory it will take?

  • I was under the impression that using your browser also required the use of your OS.

  • ....OR just don't have 6,291 tabs open at once with 1024x768 resolution. Seriously? I really want to have a separate convoluted workspace to organize tabs into groups? Firefox used to be the lightweight browser. I can already group tabs on different windows with Chrome without needing all this complication. Also, this video is TL;DW

  • So...are these tabs still in the original source windows, are these tab groups really just another Firefox window?

I guess Tab Candy makes it a bit easier to do what you already could (drag tabs to another or new window for grouping purposes).

Unless the "offload unused tabs" you mentioned stops FF from using 700MB like usual. :)

  • FDSSADFSDAFGH

  • Couldnt make it pas 0:06 either.

  • TABS. TABS EVERYWHERE.

  • I've eighteen tabs open without it collapsing, program is useless.

  • macfag

  • Makes sense, /g/uys. I mean, if I had OS X I'd be using my browser as much as possible to distract me from the fact that I'm using a shit OS.

  • @CHRISLYONZUK

Go back to 4chan where you belong ya fucking troll!

  • @megasxlr22

    wot

  • dumb motherfucking faggot cunt cocksucker

  • Most people don't have 1024x768 monitors like you so we don't need to worry about having too many tabs. And why wouldn't I just open up a new window? It would take less time and have the same results.

  • Why not just open a new browser up?

  • i think this is the most original solution mozilla has ever made. this is fucking amazing. i think being able to send groups of tabs to friends will be awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • cool feature. i think you should be able to right click tabs and add them to a group and also be able to click other tabs into that same group or another group.

  • this is interesting. seems to be stepping on the toes of my bookmarks toolbar though.....

  • who opens 12+ tabs ?

astronomy and camera and social networking,

i dont need my browser to have more tabs than my brain can manage !

  • Comment removed

  • @dfox3 right now I have 37 tabs open and I toggle between them every 5 minutes so some people use more tabs than youve mentioned so its a huge welcome ...and dont underestimate your brain mate it can do a lot more

  • damn it, this is beautiful... when is coming out?!!!

  • vihor772 beatifuliness

  • dis is da futura!!!!

  • Looks bloody fantastic!

  • this reminds of the folder feature in iphone where you drag and drop apps onto each other and give it a name

  • @JUN41D24F4R that feature was already available on the Android OS long before it was on iOS.

  • wow

  • it is good but really time consuming to make those grouping there should be like "open in a new group tab" option "open in group xyz tabs"

also i do this kind of things by opening a topic that i know is going to take few more tab in a new window and on that new window i open new tabs for that topic thich i think is equally time consuming as the above idea, the above idea is more stylish way to do that..

  • AWSOME

  • Looks awesome!
