i agree.... it makes you think back to the times of segragation and how difficult it was for african american people and teaches a lesson that we all should know....... that everyone is equal no matter your race, gender, religion or sexuality
Every time I hear this song, I get goosebumps. Queen Latifah sings beautifully and the subject is beautiful too. Less than fifty years ago, the law in America said that black people were less important than other people. Now they even have a black president. Unfortunately, there are still people who discriminate, but it is our job to change that.

I've only seen this movie once but this song and protest have stuck in my head ever since. I think this says alot about segragation and what it must have been like for them back before Martin Luther King Jr. came along to free them from the segragation.
@nickypicky24 I think that what you said is true. The part about Martin Luther saving them is kind of iffy to me though. He was a GREAT man but, I think personally alot more people than just Martin saved them. They overcame the white man together.
This song, makes me so sad, just imagining what people used to go thru, and what some groups are still going thru today. These are people, they have a right to be heard, they are no more nor less than every person on the planet.

Thats a very fair comment. Martin Luther King Jr. just got them moving and they carried themselves there for the rest of it.
