I don't think the song's about cheating. Terminal is more like it. But who cares. It's one sad reality in life. You'll discover true love just when either of you belongs to someone else. Songs, as in other art forms, immitate or mirrors life. I like the last part.."Wish I had a time machine.." most. I prefer the original rendition though. It's smooth and cool.

I first heard that song when I was 15, in 1978, sitting next to my mother as we shopped for new school supplies. I knew what being in love felt like. I had her picture in mind. I also knew I was too young to know what was right for me. I thought of marrying this girl, and then a few years later finding out that someone else would be a better match and more true, a good partner for life, but my childish intuition had me stuck with my first.
