i cant friggin install any drivers for my ati hd 2600 xt. i have windows vista and own a dell inspiron 530. when i install a driver it goes fine then says install package error and now i cant even open catalyst. on start up i get this ati error saying MOM implementipon something... anyone who can help?

THIS CARD FUCKING SUCKS! i just got this piece of shit card, and there are NO drivers that can supports this card. no ati driver can read the 2600pro for agp. i got this card on ebay, but the person didnt send the cd. and the drivers dont work at all from any site. its a sapphire and they too dont have the drivers that can make this card run! IM SO PISSED!

i paid 50 bucks for a sapphire 2600 pro. OMG i wasted my money. that card does not support any driver but its own cd. i got my card off ebay and there was no cd. now im stuck with a 2600 pro that cant read any driver. it reads only as a vga. this fucking card ruined my week.

To answer your question, this card is the best mid-range graphics card. THAT simple. And the 8600 is pretty much the worst mid-range card.

Well I got the 8800 GTX 768 MB and I have played every game to date completely maxed out (crysis excluded, but it only takes 1 more gb ram and a little bit of overclocking which isn't worth the effort - it's quite nice on the combination of high-very high anyway). It, like the 8800gts, is a very powerful card. Its price now must be like 300 or 280 Euro. When it came out it was 900 Euro! It has high clock, memory and clock speeds which can be taken higher through overclocking (continued...)

About the motherboard it should be ranging from 50-150 and about the stuff I'm not sure. Perhaps if you gave me more details on what you want to know, I could tell you. WHAT card did you finally buy, because I didn't understand. Yes the 8600 is the worst, it has very low speeds, do your research and see.

Que hay brother, la unica solucion que se me ocurre es que veas que version de drivers de ATI tienes, checa con los mas nuevos(CCC 8.3)o checa tambien tu version de directX (9.0c para winXP) si no es nada de eso no se me ocurre nada mas que formatear y esperar que sea eso, ya que probe ambos juegos en una maquina con un Pentium D, 1GB de RAM y una ATI x1550 que es mas vieja que la HD2600pro y jalaron aunque sea al minimo pero sin problemas.

Hola, cuales son los "specs" de tu PC? porque yo tengo un Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz 2GB de RAM, y la misma tarjeta de video que tu, y jugando Half Life 2, el juego "laguea" un poco, por el momento no tengo muchos juegos instalados, el PES 2008 (que no es muy pesado que digamos) corre bien, pero me preguntaba si Crysis correra bien en mi PC???

Hola, la verdad si me extraña que digas que el Half Life 2 se te laguee yo tengo un Core 2 Duo con 2 GB de Ram y ese juego me jala perfecto al maximo de graficos con una resolucion de 1680x1050 y con el suavizado en x6, quiza sea la version de tus drivers prueba bajandote los mas nuevos de ATI ke son el CCC 8.3, en cuanto a Crysis te debe de jalar sin problemas tambien.
