Wayne Cochran was best known as a "white James Brown"; this was out of character for his personna. The #1 hit (really)in the early '60s was by J. Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers; ironically, their manager/producer, Sonley Roush, was killed in a car crash shortly thereafter. Now THAT's weird.
