Self destructive behavior vs seeking help directly is not simply a matter of people being too lazy to get help. Self-hating makes it hard to cope with negative experiences. Ruining one's self pleasurably makes more sense to them than having to live with the pain.
Psychiatric help is expensive, and hard to find when you're not insured.
I think it's good that you want to motivate people, but I don't think people with emotional disorders need to be criticized.

ugh i have such a hard time with this concept. thank you for this video. i need constant reminders about this. you're right, it does seem so much easier (at least in the moment) and comfortable to just neglect yourself and destruct when you've been doing it for so long.
