I remember first seeing this movie when i was little about 5 i think and I loved it from the start. At that age I didnt get all of this black and white crap. I mean really? We're all the same people, it doesnt matter what color skin you have. I love this movie so much and I think everyone should watch it because it gives people a great lesson on what life is all about or at least what it should be about. The grandpa promised molly that he would get manny to marry corrina well at the end he did.
@Zombie8Cupcake Well, Corrina broke the vase in the beginning of the movie (interview scene) so Corrina fixxed it... Thts why the vase had cracks... Jenny was too perfect for Manny.... Manny likes things to be real... Flawed but beautiful like Corrina.... #Hit "I like the cracks"
Discovered this movie on Youtube, rented it from my local library and then bought it. Have watched it multiple times already since buying and just LOVE it.
Whoopi is beautiful inside and out and Liotta is sweet and sensitive. But the children steal the show -- especially little Miss Molly and Mr. Percy.
I think Molly is the most adorable child ever, amazing movie and I do believe they ended up together, there were a lot of signs in the movie that imply that
The ending always confused me a little. Does Corrina stay in Molly and Manny's life? Or does she "quit" and she brings Molly the binder, then that's that? :S
I love when he asked if she wants to give the notebook to Molly and when she looks down...look at Ray Liotta's face...like he's not sure she will. Shows the depth of his feelings and that he's afraid he will lose her.
One interesting part of this scene while Molly and her grandmother are singing are that the grandmother is not experiencing the pain her son felt, to lose your life partner. She is feeling that same absence, and it creates a lesson of sorts for her, on a subconscious level, that when you lose love, your 'next love' if you are fortunate to have one, may not fit the category you originally planned; just be happy to enter your life, regardless of the 'gift wrapping' it arrives in.
i love that when they made up, he didn't rehire, that way it became obvious that from then on, theyd have & acknowledge a real relationship, & not pretend that she's only around because it's her job. theyre a real couple & really a family. :)
@Muziclvr07 I see your point, but if you think about it, most romantic movies rarely allow the audience to witness the "ever after." I think the point of this movie was to allow the audience to witness the journey that leads to the "ever after" of Corrina and Manny. A journey of respect, humility and love - each of which lay the foundation of a healthy and strong relationship. Just my opinion =)
@dertlash idk, cuz THAT look between the 2 sisters at the dinner table, kinda implied that Corrina and Manny r 2gether, but idk. i like to think they got marrid and lived HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!! =D

@dertlash He hired someone else. The fact that he says "I think you'll like himn" and that she introduces him to the family signifies they will marry.
I actually kind of like Jenny at the end. Yes, she's silly, but she's just trying to keep it together the best she can, and most of her silliness is just the product of her times. We can't all be Corrina! :)
I absolutely love the part when a very dejected and hurting Manny stops and looks to heaven and asks God for help because he is obviously at the end of his ropes and realizes he won't make it without some help. We all are in that same boat and when all else fails, we must ask for help.
@shooster11 Mmhmm, but you knew she was going to come back out if he waited for her. Their chemistry was unbeatable. Even their arguing was made for each other.
I never imagined that Ray Liotta and Whoopi Goldberg were in the same movie. They're both such great actors with lots of talent. Not to mention that Ray's cute, and Whoopi always brighten's everyone mood =)
I think the music playing while Manny is talking to God is beautiful. Perfect for the scene. It's the same music heard when Manny walks into his bedroom and find Corrina and Molly taking a nap. I've been looking everywhere and still cannot find the composer. Such a great movie, though.
You're right about sequels; they are becoming more and more convoluted. Just the other day, my brother asked me, "whatever happened to the hour-and-a-half movie?"
Manny u r what is called- :( -upset!! Ha ha ha he finally got his point across! (by the way I know a lady who has two kids named Corrina and Corrino.:)

Corrina had glued the cracks together, which could represent how she was the glue that kept Manny and Molly together which could also be the reason why he did not want it fixed.
@msnambi Funny I never thought the ending was in question. If you mean there are no minute details...yeah. But this movie follows an old-fashion mode where nuance is everything. Their conversation, hugging, the fact he hired someone else and he says "I think you'll like him", she introduces him to the family with her sister already guessing their relationship AND him bringing Corrina home to meet his mother kinda says they are in a relationship now.
I can't believe Jenny is the same actress who played the first lady in Air Force One!
She played Jenny well, including the controlled rage that Jenny tries to keep below the surface. You can just tell that Jenny could go psycho on you at any moment when things didn't go right.

I can't believe Jenny is the same actress who played the first lady in Air Force One!
She played Jenny well, including the controlled rage that Jenny tries to keep below the surface. You can just tell that Jenny could go psycho on you at any moment when things didn't go right.

@firmingitup Oh yeah, she definitely wasn't as sweet as that phoney voice!

Where's Molly's grandmother come from?
Jamie1559 2 years ago
Her husband just died, so Manny must have had her move in to help take care of Molly. Remember how he said he had someone new and that Corrina would really like her. I love this movie!!!

I think she mean nationality. I'm thinking Jewish, I had neighbors that talked like her when I was little.
