  • @arrebiy Hi... It is "Ebube Dike"

  • Isn't Okwonkwo suppose to be a pitiless warrior? I do not get the impression from this movie, his character seems so weak. Especially when you compare him to Cele in the Shaka TV series.

  • @MrSesh84 They show his dad's life first.

  • this is a novel of enduring value, and you'll be different when you finish it.chinua ahebe is a treasure for the world.

  • the acting sux so bad

  • Remember this movie was done back in 1985 when Nigeria movie industry were just getting started. now it's bigger and better, they are the third movie production country in the world .Apart from the U.S AND INDIAN

  • they are now the 2nd

  • @typluz they are

  • D acting iz nt bad..that is how dey lived,spoke e.t.c at the time...x

  • See, that is what we Africans call respect for your elders.. We need to practice this here in America with our distant cousins "black-Americans'

  • That's how Africans are taught RESPECT, see the way Okonkwo's Mum set him straight @ 7:05 and asked that he APOLIGISE to his father..eh?

  • You are not alone, in the observation.

That particular scene demonstrates, not just a cherished Igbo culture, but a typical African culture where obidence and respect to parents, teachers and indeed elders are the core aspects that denote a well trained child.

A character that models a child into adulthood and is seen in that child's words. actions and deeds.

    Thanks for you contributions.
