This was fascinating - the way those men reacted when the camera was turned on them was actually so ridiculous. The funniest part of all this is when they try to show off their intelligence by citing (albeit correctly) La Dolce Vita as the genesis of the term "paparazzo" in use to describe celebrity stalking freelance photographers. Levitt one-ups them by supplying the name of the director they can't recall, Federico Fellini. I'm probably not far off by suggesting that neither of these two morons has seen a single frame of that movie.
I think this is movie is good in that, while characterizing the paparazzi as "assholes" (self-titled by the way), it brings them down to a more human level. As much as they are vilified, I feel like paparazzi's are just humans like anyone else. And they are fulfilling a human need to know more about the famous by capturing the most famous at perhaps vulnerable positions.

I really admire Joseph even more after this. This was fascinating - the way those men reacted when the camera was turned on them was actually so ridiculous. They are perfectly happy prying open other people's lives and sticking themsleves and their cameras where they don't belong but when its dont to them their first instinct is rude, defensive rage - exactly what that they've accused him of doing. The funniest part of all this is when they try to show off their intelligence by citing (albeit correctly) La Dolce Vita as the genesis of the term "paparazzo" in use to describe celebrity stalking freelance photographers. Levitt one-ups them by supplying the name of the director they can't recall, Federico Fellini. I'm probably not far off by suggesting that neither of these two morons has seen a single frame of that movie.

I think this is movie is good in that, while characterizing the paparazzi as "assholes" (self-titled by the way), it brings them down to a more human level. As much as they are vilified, I feel like paparazzi's are just humans like anyone else. And they are fulfilling a human need to know more about the famous by capturing the most famous at perhaps vulnerable positions.

Give DiCaprio his due, he has become an outstanding actor of late but JGL is WELL on his way, fame-wise. I would even say that talent-wise he has been up there for quite a while. Just yesterday I bought my second DVD copy of 'Brick' as I have worn my first one out. Whether he is Tommy, Brendan or Arthur, he is 100% class.
And gay or not gay, I TOTALLY WOULD IF GIVEN THE CHANCE.

Levitt wouldn't find your hate speech very cool. And the photog didn't necessarily assume that about JGL, he said thinking it satisfied his fantasies. I have friends of both sexualities, as do most. It doesn't make you their sexuality by being with them. JGL is CLASSY!!!! They were jerks, and I'm glad he called them out on it in a mature way. Others should LEARN from that behavior.......

I really admire Joseph even more after this. I mean it's lopsided with the paparazzi they try to make the celebrities look bad, make them get mad etc. spreading rumors and like these guys some are like so vile.
