  • This is so overwhelming.

It gives me a depressing feeling, without the depression part. I would say it is very... omnipotent.

    Good stuff, don't stop.

  • @TheBirdTweedy Depressing feeling without the depression.. hmm.

Do you feel that the song is depressing but also at the same time canceling the depression out? :) Thank you, I won't!

  • korg electribe power ! :D

  • that's nice track.

    great work!

  • @cocodahlia thanks! :)

  • all you need is alice glass and you'll be set

  • @louisalive heh, is that so? :)

  • @HarriL well tbh, i think we'd all like alice glass one way or another

  • This just shows that if u got the skills you can make killer tunes. Simple as that. Great job!!!!!!

  • hey harril nice work i am thinking of buying the emx or esx im into psytrance and minimal which one should i buy?? thnx

  • @tonyvenagnce

Thanks! I'd go with the emx. It's pretty good at those :)

Or if you are the kind of person who uses alot of samples then go for the esx!

  • Hey man, listened to a couple of your songs. Great work! I find with the electribe it's hard to get the real drum tracks that belong with the song. I dno, the sounds that come from the electribe are beautiful but even with effects the drums are limited. I'd suggest taking software drum tracks and mixing your current synth parts with em. Although the electribe is sick, if you could transpose most of it to software and mix it up more you could progress more / even sell? just an idea mate! peace

  • @bun182 Hey, the emx's drums are very limited yes, but for me the limitations make it so good. I could never work if i had every sound in the world available, as you often do in a perfect computer studio environment.

I do have the ESX so i could use custom drum samples if I wanted. But the existing samples have worked beautifully for my purposes :)

I have a computer sequencer, and i have also considered making non live sequenced tracks, but that would just take all the fun out of everything :)

  • @bun182 And what comes to the progess / money-issue, i'm ok with it. I don't care about making money with this stuff, it's more pleasing when people can just enjoy it freely. If someone wants my stuff in vinyl format or something, then it's a bit more complicated, but can be arranged ;)

Progress happens all the time. I'm pleased with what i can do with these machines :)

But that's a good idea still. If i ever have to do something serious then it's going to be made with software.

    ps.Thanks man!

  • At about 04:00 and further I can hear very subtle melodic touch, which reminds me ORBITAL. I mean their album "In Sides", but please don't get me wrong, I don't want to suggest this track is not original. It definitely is. The thing I'm talking about is more like an intertextual reference to other track. Although, I knew this is very personal and one can disagree, this is what make any track a part of bigger heritage. I, personally, like it and see this that way. Thanks for playing, very much :)

  • @trophy242 Hey man, thanks for the comment!

I haven't heard that album so it's hard to say, but now that you mentioned it I'll try to find it somewhere! :)

It's fun to hear people say that "this sounds like x and y" and I have never heard the thing they are talking about. It's good because I might find something that I'll enjoy as much as making these tracks!

Of course that's not what you were saying but in the same ballpark :)

Thanks, I appreciate what you said!

  • a master piece! very expressive.. inspiring

  • @mrjagreeez thanks man! :)

  • wow bravo, jadore la progression spacial

  • very nice track :)

  • This music play my brother adam.THE POLISH BEAT GENIUS FROM SZCZECIN

  • Whaaaaat? :)

  • @HarriL Well, probably he meant his brother is also into such style of music. Definitely, he didn't want to tell this track belongs to his brother :) Anyway, we cannot be sure, so don't blame me if I'm wrong. I just wanted to understand what he could had meant.

  • @trophy242 hehe, I was thinking that his brother is a DJ and he plays this somewhere :D

  • i love it !

  • awesome! 5*

  • great one 5*

  • I love this track.

  • Thanks. nice to know that :)

  • That was a really enjoyable and well done track! Thanks for posting!

  • Hi, congrats, the emx is a great piece of hardware. It's so much fun to play with! :)

I don't know what to say to the afx comparison, I guess i could thank you! so, Thanks! :)

  • 5 stars

  • beautiful music (^_^)

  • Thanks!

  • that's a nice track, nice and smooth, i wish i could smoke.

  • Dude can i ask what synths you used? 1-5. You don't have to say if you don't want to. This song is amazing.

  • Sure I can tell you, but what do you mean?

What did I use on emx's parts 1 to 5?

1, PCM organ'ish sound that's kind of like the base of this track.

    2, Sawtooth

    3, Synth Chords

    4, Some PCM Vibe sound

    5, Audio-IN for the guitar.

I honestly can't remember what I did with the K-station in this one. It's been so long.

  • About Audio-IN : how have you record an audio-in (guitar) in your part ?

I tought that was impossible (only ESX can do that)

If you have a trick... I'll be very pleased to know it

PS : can we also modulate the sound from Audio-IN ?

    Thanx !

  • Hey, Yoou are right, you can't record into the EMX. I just use the "Audio in + comb" Oscillator type for one synth part, and make the synth play through the pattern. That way you can add effects to the incoming signal.

Yes, you can modulate the filter cutoff, volume and panning of the audio in part.

  • Superbo! =^.°=

  • what a nice track. flying away! Great part between 6:50 and 8:00. You really rule this instrument.

  • i suscribe on youtube just to tell you that :

you're the only one who really answer to that question : "what's an Emx ?". you demonstrate it very well.

I watched your videos and your creations keeps me just... happy. happy to listen such good music.

may your inspiration never let you down.

I've decided now, i'll buy an Emx....

    my wife will leave me...

    (excuse my english)

  • ca le fait bien !!good!

  • Nice music!, realy good when u have a song wich could never end :)

  • Nice Dream track

  • harril, your music is amazing

you inspired me to purchase an electribe and try it for myself, can't put the machine away now!

  • Oh thank you very much! Great to hear that :)

  • stella sound man :)

  • very good! sa dechire mec!!!

  • WOW man im truly impressed. this is some of the best music ive heard in awhile. thanks for keeping music alive.

  • Nice to hear(read) that. Thank you! :)

  • HarriL, this is just amazing. This track could go on and on forever... This is something I would want to hear at the end of the day just before I'm off to bed. Then I'd fall to sleep with a smile on my face. :)

  • Great MP3s HarriL -- I download them all and blast them loud. I can't wait till I get an EMX. Right now I use a software based 'box' Sample Tank..has hundreds of instruments and can do lots of effects to the instruments and any sound you load, and cost just as much as the EMX. But I like the EMX better because it's a physical 'machine' you can use without a computer.

  • Thank you, nice to know that. Just try not to blast too loud and annoy other people ;)

I understand what you're talking about; I used alot of fruity loops before I got the EMX. It's just so much more fun to do things now :)

  • awesome!!!:)

  • you have talent,i like this musicmachine,regards

  • Thanks!

  • I get lost in your songs... I mean I completely loose track of time and then it just... ends, and I remember where I am. Though the world does seem like a less scary place after I wake up from your electronic voodoo trance.

Keep it up man, I'm really loving this.

  • Thanks man! It's really nice to hear that. :)

I find this track kind of relaxing in complete darkness (Like it was when I was building the track, the lights are on just for the camera ;).

  • sorry my ignorance and bad english........you craete before a pattern with novation v station and before controlling all with korg mx?and the difference korg mx and korg sx?ty and sorry for badbadbad english

  • It's ok. First off, there's no V-station here. Only the K-station. I have a pattern in the emx that controls the K-station.

    SX = Sampler

MX = synth + Drum machine

  • ah!so the melody you create before with k station if controlling with the pattern of korg.or not?

    great job!!!i like your music!!!BRAVO!!!

  • Yeah, this sounds like a lost (and good) Aphex Twin track!

  • Hehe, I can see a pattern here! ;)

    Thanks for your comment(s) :)

  • genius :D

  • That's real cool!!! Love it very much and some to envy.. ;-)

  • nice tunes harril ,do you listen to Daft Punk?

  • Thanks!

    Yeah, I do :)

  • does sound pretty afxy. Everything except for the offbeat hi-hat. The 16th shaker/hat is more like it!

The shimmery organ tone is what makes it great.

Sounding great in general really. Cool melody at 3:45!

  • Thanks for your comment!

I think I should dig deeper into his work to "see" what you guys are talking about.. :)

    -HarriL

  • hahaha does sound bit like afx es older work.

try finding over stuff under over pseudonimes.

like DICEMAN.or have a look at his label.warp record

  • u r one of the godz

  • the begining sounds just like an Aphex Twin track... still excellent work.

  • Hey, thanks!

I actually "found" afx after I made this track, what track do you think the beginning sounds like? :)

  • Or did you mean like generally?

  • How Muct Gost's This Machine ?

    Want to Buy it (A)

  • I love this one. Although a bit repetitive, it has a nice aura. Good stuff.

  • hahah i odered mine yesterday for half price they cost about £500 so i got mine from america for 250 with pakiging it came to just under £300 but seriously thats like 200 quid cheaper :) love the synths in this video! aceness!

  • Wow, that's a great deal :)

And thanks alot for your comment!

  • Well Harril, I'm adding the Emx to my set-up again. Pretty damn excited. I missed this damn thing and your videos are very inspirational. Keep it up.

  • very nice, i love it.

  • hey i REALLY like your music, expecially this song. i wish i had the equipment to make music like this.

  • Hey, thanks! Well, it's time to start saving money then ;)

  • The Electribe series give productions that live feel that music is so missing these days. You use the Emx very well man. Kudos. I kinda miss my Emx but I've moved on in a different direction.

  • Thanks man :)

  • Really nice. Almost reminds me of a more chilled out Orbital.

  • Beaut'. It was auditory exploratory surgery on my central nervous system. My spine'still ting-ling.

  • Haha, thank for the comment, and for the subscription! ;)

  • Kudos to you! You realy use the EMX well..ive had mine for year but havent produced anything this good yet. U do any tutorials?

  • Another brilliant track.I started to knod my head to the rythm with my eyes closed to this as soon as the track started. That means it's good.Deep, thoughtful, emotional and groovy techno that I missed hearing for a long time.Excellent track that gives me good inspirations for my track making.Ace!.

  • Oh, it is that good? :D

I dont know about thoughtful or groovy, but emotional and deep i agree. :)

It's really nice to hear that. what you wrote is exactly what i have been missing aswell. That's why i have to do it myself. ;)

    Thanks again!

  • all good ;~)

  • Thank you :)

    And thanks for subscribing aswell!

  • very nice Melody ! great job man ! Master of Emx1 !

You use an external Keyboard or Emx1 keyboard ?

  • Thank you, I use the emxs own keyboard :)

  • super quaala-mongo dude!!!! this track freakin rocks !!!! shit Tiesto, oakenfold ..time to step down.. great job haril!

  • Haha, well thanks ;D

There's no need for them to step down though, they are good at what they do :)

  • Awesome... you have creativity and talent!

    Very inspirational!

    Great work, keep it up!

  • Hey, thanks! :)

  • WOOOO, nothing more to say :)

  • GREAT!! You are BIG!!

  • Thanks!

No, im actually pretty small. :)

  • nice twist of genres, and Im likin the effects you're starting to experiment with. keep it up harril.

  • Thanks alot! :)

Yes, i have started blending the genres that i like to listen, and play. It gets pretty intesting at times ;)

No, I havent thought about DJ-stuff at all. but im glad you like my work :)

  • wow, i like seein you mixin it up with the styles. your work is by far the best electribe work on this site in my opinion, keep it up. I'd post up my work on here, but I have no vid camera at the moment. Im thinking maybe our next performance will be taped. You ever think of getting a dj contract for nightclubs etc.?? you should

  • inspirational!

  • do you need a keyboard to make a song like this? I have a $200 casio keyboard, but can i make songs without it?

  • No, you dont need a keyboard to make something like that. some people find it easier, some people don't.

You don't need your casio, but im pretty sure it has midi out-output and you can use it with your Synths/computer. If you know how to play piano, it will help you. Don't throw it away :)

  • Keep it coming, master!! (5*)

  • I will do my best, thanks (x2) :)

  • Yes, you really are the master of the emx so far. you should make a couple more tracks and put them on a cd and start selling cd's. Go crazy, make a name for yourself already! you got the skills
