I have found some books that are Intensly informative and are along the lines of The Britanica English Encylopedia. The books are all by Gavin Baddeley&some other authors I can't remember atm lost all my pagan&Subculture books to somthing rather flamey and mortifying. The Collecting begins yet again.

I highly suggest, 'Goth Craft' by Raven DiGitalis. It has great information and history of the gothic culture. It also discusses magic and wicca which I don't care much about. But it's still a very informative book! Filled with pictures!
Uhm... I don't mean to bring up the subject of religion in this and I DON'T want to get flammed nor am I hating on anyone or what have you... but what do you think about goths who are, for example, Christian (or whatever religion or what have you)? I'm Christian (not crazy about it because some things I don't like about it, but anyways...) and I'm goth-y. What do you think about those sorts of goths? Just curious and PLEASE no one flame me... I mean no one any harm.
I just had a teenage boy shout "nice gettup!" to me, and just out of sheer nievity (don't know how to spell that) I kinda smiled, then his girlfriend or whatever told him to shut up, But my downfall is that I am TOO nice, though it is good for a goth to be nice, to show others that we are not monsters, maybe I am a bit too nice? Maybe this book would help me to see how to act when someone judges me.???
@dwennifer i think even if you are nice or not, people are still going to be jerks about how you dress. I mean, you don't even need to be goth to get crap yelled at you. Some people are just like that. It's best to ignore them.
I just knew you were talking about the Lady of the Manners before you even said it :D I also haven't read it, but I'm going to get a copy asap! Gothic Beauty was really hard for me to find a few years ago, but now the B&N near my place stocks them :D
