@ThePatrickinator sadly its not, Megaman Maverick Hunter X on PSP is a remake of the story of Megaman X aswell as a 3D remake of the original game form the SNES for the most part, if you want a good idea of the events that happened before the original SNES Megaman X, find the anime cutscenes from X4 and watch them, one will have Zero fighting Sigma, THAT is the precursor to Megaman X, Zero was invented by Doctor Wily from the original Megaman series...Maverick Virus Zero aka Berzerk Zero

@ThePatrickinator Zero was created with the intent to spread the original Maverick Virus, when he encounters Sigma, leader of the Maverick Hunters, they nearly kill each other, but in a twist, Sigma punches Zero's forehead crystal, through this contact the Virus infected Sigma, but it didnt take over him immediatly, he fought it for a while before it evolved into the Sigma Virus, which is the original "story" of the Megaman X Series..the Sigma Virus and Sigma, who became a Maverick due to it
