Goku trained Gohan right before the battle with cell in the hyperbalic time chamber. after the battle with cell he didnt fight unless he was the great saiya man. when he was brought to the world of the kais he had to wear the kai outfit because the supreme kai's body guard made him wear to be more presentable while on that planet. when he left to fight buu he asked the supreme kai to give him his fathers outfit to wear in his honor.

@superkid126 pretty much the difference between frieza's final form and his 100% form. perfect form cell was better defined "complete" cell, having absorbed the androids, while perfect cell was simply perfect form cell at 100%.

Notice how I capitalized the word "Teen" meaning I was using it as a pronoun or title. Of course Gohan is 11 during the cell games, but the character itself at this point of time is usually called "Teen Gohan" Practically every video game dbz has made states him in this stage as Teen Gohan.

goku did the same thing when he was getting trained. he wore the crest of whoever his current master was. gohan is doing the same thing. piccollo trained him first officially and since he doesn't have a crest he wore his outfit. after he beat cell was after his father trained him. so he wore the same crest as his father in his honor.
