punk and everything else changes it gets different by the passing of time but it doesn't mean that's not punk, we are in 2009 so punk can't be the same as sex pistol's, i agree that we can't call punk some bands but punk will always be around in different forms.

Minor Threat wasnt straight edge, ian mackaye has said so several times, he just coined the idea. SS Decontrol are what a straight edge band is, beating the fuck outta people for smoking haha.

all or most of Minor Threat's members were straightedge, whether they accepted the title or not, and they sang songs about being straightedge, so in my book that makes them a straightedge band. SS Decontrol is kool, but militaristic straightedgers are annoying.

if you really listen to the lyrics it sounds like its kinda going out to those mad annoying horribly underage kids that do stupid shit (like drinking) in public places and what not and try to pass it off as being "punk" or cool or what have you, so its sort of an attack on a societal trend rather than on people who drink in general

I can't believe how much you judge by appearances. Chris #2 is fucking up the band, yeah right. The band makes these decisions together and if it is a commercial decision, its not just Chris. He can dress as he likes, and if you're going to judge, then you don't know a thing about punk.

well you're right about that. I don't know how he acted before, but I saw them on Groezrock here in belgium and I'm going to see them in august too, and I can tell you: this Chris#2 guy is really thinking he's the coolest person on earth, and he's acting like that too. Not my type of person.
