  • U must be retired! Good work!

  • @iannamico Not retired, but I do work for myself! This is actually an old series. You need to watch my much newer series.

  • very very good

    am from palestin

  • @kawasaki0zx Hey, thanks for watching but this is a very old video series. You need to watch my much newer series.

  • @Junkman2000

    your welcome ^_^

  • Excellent video, I'm just starting to gather information on detailing and found you really informative.

    Thanks, Eric

  • @110bravo You need to watch my new 2-bucket wash video series. This is my old series. I have improved the process from when I did these videos.

  • where do you get that meguiars product? I nly ever see the consumer line at stores. Did you have to special order it? Great vid!

  • @FormulaDGoSpeedGo You can only get it at a Mirror Glaze distributor or online.

  • nice videos. thanks!

  • @johnhurt888

Thanks for watching! You should see my new series on this subject. This is my old series.

  • Ahhh... That sucks. Where do you recommend I buy? All we got here is pepboyz, autozone, an orielys...

I have seen your new videos. Haha funny how you kept saying which product goes with which pad haha... it's idiot proof!! Lol... But yeah... How else do I get the swirls out?

  • @whatismynamedude

The only place to get most of the good stuff is online. Some body shop supply places sell 3M stuff but most of it is made for a rotary polisher. You have to do the research (as you are apparently doing) and decide on exactly what you need to accomplish the look you want. Don't bother with that over the counter crap. You saw the results that I can get from the good stuff, choose the good stuff. There are multiple brands to choose from but you have seen what I use and why.

  • Nice video's! I just used the meguairs X2.0 fine scratch and blemish remover... i washed the car then i applied it by hand but the swirls and stuff is still on their. is it better to use a machine???...

  • @whatismynamedude

Two things. This is my old wash and wax video series. You should watch the newer series. Secondly, I don't use the over the counter Meguiar's products. They are a waste of time as you experienced. I only use their Mirror Glaze labeled products (their professional line). Anything coming out of Auto Zone, Pep Boys and Costco is junk.

The polisher is going to give you 100 times the results you see by hand. You could pay me to do this stuff by hand. It is a waste of time.

  • OK, another question for you, here in my city, there's a guy that sells a treatment that would protect the paint for a whole year without having to wax, only wash away the dirt with the two bucket wash. do you recommend this kind of treatments an/or sealants? does Adams have something like that? I live in Mexico and this products are really hard to find, and theyr'e expensive too.

We only get the Meguiar's line

congrats for your videos, I may subtitle them in spanish and pay you royalties hehe.

  • @felipepalos

lol! Last a year, eh? Don't believe the hype my friend. You may as well go to Pep Boys and buy some of that Nu-Finish, "the once a year car polish!" That guy is blowing smoke up your wazoo.

Meguiar's makes some fine products which will more than adequately protect your car's finish. Adam's has a product called Machine Superwax that if layered correctly, will protect the paint up to around 4 months but that depends on what you expose the car to. There is no miracle in a bottle.

  • Have you tried Optimum No Rinse wash & shine? Can you give an advice on this product?

    thanks.

  • @felipepalos

Never tried it. I am NOT a fan of washing a car any other way than what you have seen in this video series. If there was a restriction on water where I lived, I'd move..

  • @Junkman2000 ha same reason i wont live or drive on gravel roads , we take our detailing very seriously !!!!!!!!

  • Ur damn Good man...taps on ya back...Good work

  • @Lumixster

Thank you sir! Have you seen my new wash and wax series?

  • Meguiar's Cleaner Wax Paste. I forgot to add

  • i use meguiar's cleaner wax it works really good at geting rid if swirl marks and scratches i have a 93 mustang lx 5.0 and its white and that wax makes it shine really bright and it turns heads so i would try it. (Meguiar's Cleaner Wax)

  • What I am using in this old wash and wax series is heads above the stuff you're using. The Meguiar's products in these videos are from the Meguiar's professional line of products. It is labeled under the Meguiar's Mirror Glaze line. The stuff you're using is bottled under the Meguiar's consumer label and is not in the same class. We call that stuff OTC junk.

A cleaner wax is a AIO product. It's like breakfast in a burrito. I don't do AIO products. I want my breakfast the way my mom cooked it.

  • @Junkman2000 Yea but it still works just as good becuse my mustang has new paint so i dont have to use the real high quality stuff so it doesnt need becuse it is baseicly garage kept so there is barely a scratch on it and the meguiars cleaner wax works so good i can see my reflection on the car like a mirror but in you case you probilly have more exsperiance in detailing than i do but you do a great job at it i like your work its very nice.

  • Well I have always said that if you are 100% happy with the results that you are getting from a product, then there is no reason for you to change. After all, you are the most important person in this equation, regardless of what I or anyone else thinks. That's all that matters!

  • @Junkman2000 oh also it isnt the bottled wax. its the kind in the round can with the round buffing pad included with it.

  • @Junkman2000 Its the kind that isnt liquid. sorry for adding to many comments i keep forgeting to mention things lol.

  • What is the exact name on the can? Also, does the can say Mirror Glaze?

  • @Junkman2000 Its says on the can america's #1 selling cleaner wax cleans, polishes & protects in one easy step and it says high-gloss mirror shine and includes buffing pad

  • I meant the name. Does it say Meguiar's or Mirror Glaze? And, what is the exact name of the product as it shows on the can?

  • @Junkman2000 its meguiars cleaner wax.

  • Yea, that's still consumer grade. If it works for you, great! I wouldn't use it but then I have this thing about consumer grade products. I use the Mirror Glaze line so it has absolutely nothing to do with Meguiar's.

  • @Junkman2000 oh ok where can i buy the mirror glaze product at i want to get some it looks like it works great with geting rid of the scratches i have a car that has alot of swirls and scratches and its my daily driver so it can get pretty messed up easily.

  • You have to get it from either a Mirror Glaze distributor or online. I have a distributor in my city so it's just a drive for me.

  • That stuff is okay for guys who don't feel like doing all the work involved in doing it the way I do, or guys on a budget who are not looking for the level of shine that I am going for. But for guys doing professional work, AIO products are for the less demanding.

  • Thanks Junkman,

I just ran into the segments w/ the Adams Polishes.

I called them yesterday to see if they have the foam gun. Unfortunately, they're not for sale anymore.

  • You can get them at Amazon. The company that makes them is so unreliable at keeping them in stock that Adam quit carrying them.

  • Nice Segment

  • You realize that this is a old series, right? I have a newer series that goes into much more detail.

  • what do you think of touchless carwashes.. I use this..especially in winter.. all the grit..that builds up.. and what do you recommend for snow removal techniques.. I try to remove only the top 6 + inches and let the remaining 1/2 inch to melt off..as to protect the paint..

  • Good questions, but there is not enough room here to go into all the details. Join me over at Adam's Forums (Google it). I have answered the touchless question in detail over there.

  • I park my car in the streets of newyork , you wanna see a scratch ? i'll show you a scratch !

  • does the fine cut make the paint look lighter because some compounds do

  • No.

  • great i will be buying some of that

  • Cool vid. Thx for the tutorial.

  • Did you see the new series?

  • because of your help I was able to take the small scratch off my dinan3, thank you.

  • That's what I'm talking about. A community of individuals helping each other out. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

  • No, I have a 2009 TC. Its dark gray metallic and I'm interested in making that paint pop and trying to maintain it.

Problem is, I live in an apt and the car is outside 24/7. This time of year, I'd kill for a good place to wash it. Thankfully, I have a relative that lets me wash in their driveway and the car has never seen an automatic wash and never will!!

Where could I pickup (locally) Zaino car wash?

  • Wow, bummer. You're going to have a hell of a time keeping it pristine. The main problem you are going to have is the elements that are settling on the paint all day long. That means that you will have to do a lot of claybarring to get the impurities out of the paint.

Zaino is not a car wash, it is a total car care experience. If you Google "The Zaino Store", the very first link will take you to their online store where you can order their products. Great product, but it requires some sweat.

  • Are you in Louisville? I am. Saw the KY tag.

I use Megs NXT. What do you think about that versus Zaino?

  • I would chose Zaino over that every time. I am in Louisville also. You have a Vette?

  • i hope this is a good question... The zaino website says u must use the ZFX as a base before any Zaino project. Is this tru? Some websites said you could use Z1 in place of ZFX and vice versa.

  • In this instance, I would do just as Sal Zaino directs. He is the inventor of the Zaino line and when I first started using it, I consulted with him. If that's what the Zaino website says you should do, then I would go with that before going with what anyone else on the web says to do. This is why so many people get different results when using professional products. They end up making up their own directions and then bad mouth the product when they don't get their desired results.

  • Thanks alot junkman, so all i need is some Zaino Z-2 and a good scratch/swirl remover? Also can you use those quick detail sprays on top a of a Zaino coat or should you spray those on before you apply the coat?

  • Okay, man...you didn't watch the videos at all. I explained all this in detail on the videos. I even named the detail spray by Zaino and explained when to use it. You need to go back and watch the videos in their entirety. I took the time to make them and be as through as possible so that all this would be covered. Every question you have asked is covered in the videos. It will only cost you 40 minutes of your life. After that, if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them.

  • I'm not trying to be mean but I have questions coming in from all over the world and I want to answer as many legitimate questions as I can.

  • hey junkman, do you know of any non-abrasive products to remove scratches and swirl marks?

  • There is no such thing.

  • try to do that on my audi

  • Try the M80- M83 products to from meguiars

  • I'm sold on Zaino!

  • ZAINO OR MEGUIARS? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  • Between those two, I would go for Zaino still.

  • Great video!

  • Thanks for sharing!! Now you want to come do my car....

  • Bring it on over! I like a challenge! lol

  • Thanks man! You are my hero!

  • Aw shucks Dan, it's nothing! :)

  • Awesome job man! #2 is my favorite for that application too.

  • That #2 will fix a lot of issues without doing much damage to the paint surface. Great stuff for minor swirls and scratches.

  • very cool video and i like your ittention to detail.

  • Thanks man!

  • Thanks Jray and Tom. I need to get hip to what the speed channel is! I keep hearing about it but have no clue as to its existence or where abouts.

So where is this speed channel you speak of?

  • ^^^+1 the shows on speed channel today are garbage, this shows you how to take care of your ride, keep up the good work man

  • Wow, love the video! Find it on DigitalCorvettes... Dude you shoud have a show on Speed Channel!!
