  • you people who call us idiots r fools who will never experience the thrill and put ur selfs to the challenge by doing what is done on south africa in these CANOES... not bloody kayaks. i can tell u that most of u insulting the guys doing this stuff in canoes wouldnt last 5 minutes doing the things that are done by the paddlers in south africa

  • You people who call us idiots for taking these fibreglass racing boats down big rapids...shame, I feel sorry for your that you will never experience it!

Does anyone know which rapid this is? Looks like downstream of Commercial Road Weir?

  • note to self. Don't buy your yak at walmart.

  • Go check out some of the Umko videos on YouTube to see how it should be done!

  • The K1s and K2s used are not your usual sprint boats. They are reinforced around the nose and on the bottom (to withstand rock scrapes).

  • Guys - this type of sport is very common in South Africa - racing K1 and K2 (and even K3) down rivers with rapids up to Cat. 3. Examples: the annual Dusi Canoe Marathon from Pietermaritzburg to Durban (130km) - 2000 paddlers. Fish Marathon, Eastern Cape, 86km, two days - close to 2000 paddlers. The Umkomaas Marathon - biggest white water in the world for these types of boats, 85km, two days - maybe 400 paddlers (it's a very tough race!).

  • what a jerk the hull is not made or that type of kayak is no a white water kayak now you dameged your 2 grand kavller kayak

  • what r you doing on wild water with this kind of kayak...idiots

  • @amigulka some people simply prefer real kayaks to "barrels" on any kind of water
