Hello, What type of wood are you bending which you say rivals Brizillian Rosewood?

@fairbanksave This might be a bit late, but honestly Brazilian Rosewood is preferred by many, but it doesn't mean you have to. Every guitar is different, and no wood combination is the "perfect" wood combination, it's personal taste. Close woods are, Any other kind of rosewood, or striped ebony. Next closest is ziracote. Google "breedlove wood chart" and hit images, should be the first one.

I've seen them home made with metal pipe and heating elements inside with thermostat control. I made a simple one by welding a rod to a pipe, the put it in hot coals, and clamping it to a vise..

Luthiers Mercantile sells one for $170.

It is possible to build your own. There are a few different ways of going about it, the classic one being using a propane torch inside a pipe.
