  • I worked on this bridge with my dad. We stained every single board by hand. Took an entire summer.

  • Wikipedia has a listing of latitude & longitude for each bridge. (Google search for Ashtabula County Covered Bridge locations.) If you go to the specific bridge listing, you can also use Google Maps to find a street address near some of the bridges that may be useful if using a GPS that will not accept latitude/longitude settings. If you are using a smartphone, use the Wikipedia pages to load your destination for your navigator. Note that Google Maps' Smolen-Gulf map is out of date.

  • For a few years I lived in Ashtabula County, next to the South Denmark Road Bridge, played in the bridges rafters and went to Dorset School. I fell in love with covered bridges, their romance and history. Great job Ashtabula County, I miss you.
