  • When will he most likely enter the draft? If hes good enough....

  • @liamrokocoko he was entered in the 2013 mock draft at number 4

  • Oh shit, Adam Morrison's twin!

  • @JhimBallesteros hes better than him

  • Wooo can't wait to get him at Pitt!

  • saw this kid play yesterday... so good

  • looks like a taller Emile Hirsch

  • adam morrison!

  • read in the paper that hes going to some high school in america for a couple of months to keep his academics up before the season starts or something?think its called notre dam? cant quite remmber

  • This young man is very humble as well as very talented. He will go far in life.

  • This guys definitively got a big future, well done man wish you all the best

  • was not in a gang.

  • Is that Adam Morrison?

  • @Flankr7 Re "Why should we compare NZs poor to Brazil, Soweto etc, poor IS poor at the end of the day, its the same"...simply shows how ignorant you are lols

  • @Flankr7 re "Why should we compare NZs poor to Brazil, Soweto etc poor IS poor at the end of the day, it's the same"...lols...not it isn't...there are differing degrees of poor...say like living in a house with no power...built by scavenged material...no DBP...dole...begging is the only source of income...poor differs

  • @Flankr7 what was longfinnedeeler's comment??? curious

  • @SAPCmafi Dunno...sounds like an egg to me

  • i dunno if he has what it takes. but ill be keeping up with him and i sure hopes he does.

  • @Flankr7 Lols...seeing the poor on tv and seeing the poor are two totally different things...if you get my drift...there is poor and ideologically poor and there is a big difference

  • @longfinnedeeler shoosh please. You're embarrassing yourself. Well said @blakosromonos

  • since both of the top rated comments are the same i thought of saying @longfinnedeeler, you bitch you.

  • @LiqCharles Lols! THanks!

  • number 112? i guess they ran outta numbers

  • Cant wait to play with him on 2k!! ;)

  • standards. Your argument in comparing soweto/brazilian favallas is limited. Its like saying Remuera is not really a rich suburb because it isn't as Rich as Beverly Hills in LA. See what i did there? You Muppet. Just stop trolling now your getting owned.

  • Quoting your Maoritanga is not improving the crux of your argument. I am from Te Uri O Hau so i know little of your Iwi. However i know enough not to be spouting and making stupid generalisations that none of my people are poor. Thats just ignorant. Kudos to you for being able to provide food for your marae. Not everyone has strong ties to there whakapapa. I.E Urban Maori (Which i deal with on a daily basis). Maori may be culturally rich but there is plenty of improvement to be made in living*

  • Hoping this guy makes it to the NBA and becomes something special!!

  • He reminds me of Tim Duncan, he should be a good fundamentally sound player.

  • @DownRightStupidsc I was thinking the same thing.

  • Very humble...You've done us all Polynesian especially Tongans proud'...Keep up the good work....

  • This kid is awesome! Good luck bro!

  • My problem with him is that he doesn't seem passionate about basketball, though im not sure maybe he doesn't express it with words.... lets see how far he will get in his career perhaps?

  • @funakiexpress I go to his school and TRUST ME! He is so passionate about basketball, little may you know it but hes a very shy guy and a man of few words, unlike the arrogant cocky basketballers of the USA, he trains every day for about 4 - 5 hours, if that isnt passion i dont know what is !

  • @Dxceh well if so that sounds good, a good attitude will only fuel him to greatness, just seemed like someone who was only playing basketball because he;s exceptionally tall lol

  • @funakiexpress the answer is the fact that steven his/ was a very shy person. also, why would he want to talk about what game his got, and how hard he goes on the paint when at some point in time he may not do what he said, hes seems like one of those people to no talk shit, its just how us new zealanders are, talk less, play bigger.

  • WELCOME TO NEW ENGLAND BROTHER!

  • that was a wierd interview but I guess it comes with being a raw and young talent. He will learn the trade of interviews as he goes firther in hinc career

  • come back and make NZ great at basketball then

  • fwaaaar saweet as then mr steven adams dawg your own country then.....

  • Leave the fights aside. Admire the skills, the physique and the potential this kid has. He must understand that at this stage he is only that, potential. I know a lot of people who had potential and ended up having a dismal life, just because they mixed their potential with actual achievement. Let's hope he grows and delivers. It'd be good for Basketball in NZ.

  • I wonder whats wrong with Americas youth system when this guy of New Zealand pops out of the Tasmanian Devils and destroys a top 5 big man in the class of 2012, Kaleb Tarczewski???

  • I like him, he looks like he really enjoys playing, and anyone who's playing to help their family I will always root for. All best, except when you play Syracuse twice, or three, or four times coming up in '12.

  • @Flankr7 poor in New Zealand ain't the same as poor in Brazil, bro.

But yeah, there are some fucking tough areas in New Zealand just like there are tough areas in most countries.

If Afrcian Americans from Los Angeles are deemed to have gone through 'hard' times, then this bloke has definitely gone through hard times in the New Zealand hood.

  • @AussieHoosier WTF! Where are the tough areas in NZ that are even close to the Cabellas of Brazil? Can you name one? Kaingaroa? Murupara? Manurewa? Not even close...they have power, social services...water...roofs made of roofing material...what a load a dribble.

  • @longfinnedeeler Does Steven Adams and Brazil have to do with each other? FUCK OFF! He came from a poor fucking backround, and if anyone is going to know here, i think it would be me because i know him the best out of anyone commenting on this.

  • @Dxceh Poor in NZ lols pull the other one...seen poor first hand...and we in NZ are lucky as all hell...poor in his mind for sure...poor in reality? lols...you fools don't get it...some people love telling the how hard my life is story as a way to embellish and extend on their poor me story...,just the way peeps are lols

  • @longfinnedeeler You know nothing about him? So shut the fuck up you fucking mongrel fucking gypsy, no one wants you watching this video, go troll somewhere else, and get a life you fucking loser

  • @Dxceh Lols...who said I did...but what I do know is that poverty in NZ is nothing comparatively...but it's become very fashionable to bleet the "I'm from a poor family eh man...sose we had nothing eh..." blah blah blah...we have social services that pay the dole, DPB...pension...dozens of countries around the world don't have such things...hence why you see people living in slums...begging...dying etc

  • @longfinnedeeler Seriously man? Poor is poor? Get over it.

  • @Dxceh I believed that...then traveled...stop bullshitting to yourself and buy a plane ticket...lols...people who live in a bubble think the contents of the bubble are the world...a whole other level out there...losers like you should grow a world view

  • @longfinnedeeler I have travelled the world? and yeah the "poor" is much worse in other places but it doesnt take away the fact that he grew up poor and lived in hard times? go live in his shoes, im sure you wouldnt be saying oh yeah i grew up great living in the streets with no money no nothing, thats the perfect life to me. thats what it was like for him. Hahahahaha your calling me loser? Okay keyboard warrior

  • @Dxceh Lols...and so did I...but that was all put in to perspective in South East Asia...I now know how lucky I am to have been brought up in NZ...and not the slums of South East Asia, Brazil, Soweto...man we got it good down here lols

  • @Dxceh You are a loser...anyone that defends the ideologically poor is a loser...beyond refute really

  • @Flankr7 And bullshit "poor is poor"...go and travel around a bit...visit countires with no social services...no dole...DPB...old age pension....people sleeping on the sidewalk...you ain't seen nothing...just told yourself your hard up and spat out bullshit cliches just so you got a sad story to tell so you can live a lie. Stop telling stories and try living the truth.

  • @longfinnedeeler How about you stop trolling and fuck off. If you dont like this guy no prob... feel free to express your feelings elsewhere. All you are proving to those of us who dig this dude is that you are a troll and a loser. Yeah Ive been to Cambodia and worked with orphans. So what. Nobody cares about me doing that and neither does anyone give 2 shits of what you feel the difference is between poor and "poor".

    Get a life dude.

  • @mellamyne Cambodia compared to NZ...well there is no comparative...and for the record there is a difference between poor and poor...there is ideologically poor i.e. those who think they're poor because they're to dumb to realize otherwise and there is actually poor i.e. those who don't have access to social services i.e. DPB, dole, doctors, food, shelter etc, etc. In a developed country like NZ even the homeless of Auckland have access to such things through Auckland City Mission etc, etc, etc

  • @Flankr7 NZ is paradise...why? Because of the opportunities galore…you wannabe gangster fantasists play the same old “life is hard eh man”….”I was brought up hard ow”….”you don’t know what it’s like being brought up around gangs eh man” blah blah…heard those stories a thousand times…fellas love spitting them out to play make believe…but when you see world outside this little bubble that is New Zealand you’ll see the fantasy for what it really is...a self imposed lie.

  • I'm Tongan born an bred in the land down under...BUT ...This guy just assumes when interviewing SOMEONE from New Zealand he assumes you're Maori.. We known for our multi-cultural-ism ahahahah what an asshole...We maybe not that good at Basketball but at least we don't wear helmets and shoulder pads when we play a contact sport ...

  • @07Bolla They don't wear helmets and pads when they box, wrestle, MMA etc, etc. And with dudes like Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, James Toney, Jon Jones, Chuck Liddel are pretty hard dudes. I mean there ain't a boxer from Lightweight to middleweight that beats him out of the other 5 billion people in the world...except Pacman perhaps.

  • @longfinnedeeler you chuck on some boots and try see if you can last playing rugby for the whole 80 minutes.... Im talkn about the asshole thats interviewing him.. i made my point clear... you're talkin about something completely different.....

  • @07Bolla Are you crack or just dumb

  • @longfinnedeeler your mums on crack and your dads the dumbass...

  • @07Bolla You think of that yourself...lols! Some originality pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! How sorry

  • @longfinnedeeler so you use that as your comeback?? lol get a life you keyboard warrior..... i feel sorry for you

  • @07Bolla No originality...so instead you get angry lols

  • @longfinnedeeler I'm on this guy's side

  • @crazyboimatt Yeah! me too!

  • Comment removed

  • What a fuckn moron this guy is. Says he is from a "poor family" but comparatively poor in New Zealand with poor in Compton, Soweto, Slums of Brazil is nothing (and I've been to all three places). What a fuckn cliche...fools should stop trying to play up the whole poor thing for sympathy gain.

  • @longfinnedeeler piss off bro, ive played against this cat. He is fucking humble and he did come from a poor background. He had it real rough at times when he was younger with gang life. Dont say he is looking for sympathy gain, he doesnt need it. He is fucking beast.

  • @darkaLexBC Blah blah blah...and we all think that growing up in what we think is the "hood"...I know Rotorua inside out...travel a bit and you see we live in Gods Own. Just the same old woe is me bullshit everyones recycling these days...go to the Islands...South Africa...India...Brazil and you'll see what hard it...opened my eyes and I'm born and bred in to a gang family.

  • @longfinnedeeler You are right we have it made here. But we still have people that could be classified as poor. Being Poor doesn't necessarily correlate with violence. Having lived in Tanzania i lived amongst people that have no property but a few crops and one cow yet are not violent and live tough physical yet happy lives.

  • @longfinnedeeler This guy should just fuck up!!

  • @SAPCmafi Agree with you totally...guy is just going on about the truth! How dare someone tell the truth about other peoples lies

  • @darkaLexBC He plays the poor me I am poor tune...dude wouldn't know what poor is...visit India...Thailand...places where there are no social services...where peeps earn less then a few bucks a day...NZ is paradise...we don't know what poor is lols

  • @longfinnedeeler Calm down. Poor is a relative word, that means different things in different countries. Have you seen some towns in the far north or up in the Uraweras? I took a group of boys from Otara to a town in the Uraweras that had no windows. Not one. It was hard to believe, but it was in NZ.

  • @blakosromonos I am from the Uruwera (Ruatoki/Matahi) and Far north (Pawarenga) you fuckwit. My Whanua in both Pawarenga and Ruatoki don't think of ourselves as poor...why have Te Ao Maori, the Ngahere and Awa...and that makes us the richest people in the world.

  • @longfinnedeeler So that entitles you to know everything about a particular region/iwi/district? No, so f##k off yourself you self-indulgent chump. Your one persons viewpoint, I wont hold your lack of knowledge or Mana against your Hapu or Iwi, but the way you conduct yourself is sloppy to say the least.

  • @blakosromonos Lols I know enough to be able to provide food for the Marae and whanau from Ruatoki and Pawarenga...if you think I don't know about Tuhoe-tanga or Te Aupouri-tanga (which are both heartland of the far north and Uruwera) you tell me what I don't know. To be questioned by someone that wouldn't know the first or last thing about what it is to be Te Aupouri or Tuhoe is ridiculous. You pathetic cowardly bum

  • This guy is da bomb love new zealand and basketball u go steven show america what u got

  • Tongan.. Maori.. Samoan.. Cook Island.. Tahitian.. Hawaiian we all Polynesian as an ethnic group.. Big strong aggressive fast thats how we roll.. we dominate rugby and rugby league worldwide.. getting our foothold in the NFL too as we got natural size and expolsive power make us perfect for contact sports.. Genetically we're the biggest(not tallest) ethnic group in the world and also possess the highest bone density and muscle mass.. Good to see one ours making moves in Basketball.. enjoy PITT

  • @riversgroove Yet your ethnic group has no best players in any sport.

  • @falla121 wrong haha.. Sonny Bill Williams best rugby player in the world. Mark Hunt k1 champ.. Jonah Lomu the single most talented rugby player in the history of the sport.. Micheal Campbell US open golf champ.. Benji Marshall worlds best league player, Greg Louganis olympic gold medal diving i could go on,another fact you obviously dont know is per capita we have the highest ethnic representation in the NFL, Holani Ngata.. Lofa Tatupu, Troy Polamalu, Chris Koemeatu etc How ya like them apples

  • @riversgroove lumping all those islands together into one ethnicity? Sounds kind of like a cop out. I agree that those islands have collectively produced some pretty nice athletes, though. Polamalu is the best defensive player in the NFL and top 5 overall IMO with Brees, Manning, Brady, and Fitzgerald.

  • @metalfang5 if you knew how close the cultures are you wouldnt be that fast to make that assumption.. Our languages, value systems and customs are all almost identical.. the islands themselves geographically are close and we all share common ancestors.. and on top of that we all share DNA exclusive to polynesians. If ya can be bothered learn about the migration in the pacific you will discover for yaself that we may be different tribes but are one people..

  • @metalfang5 Check out the commonalities in language. Incredibly close. All from the same place and all share the same genetic line.

  • @riversgroove Lmao. Richie macaw is 3 or 4 times better than sonny bill. Jonah lomu, yes he was destructive, no he was not the best of all time. Micheal campbell, he won ONE major, since then he has made the cut about once in 5 years. Yes benji is up there for being the best. As for the others. I have no opinion as i do not know them.

  • @falla121 Richie was the best.. far fom it now.. Sonny is by far the best and his price tag reflects that.. and I said that Jonah was the most talented didnt I? not that he was the best.. Its only a matter of time before Polys dominate sport worldwide (per capita).. sounds like you got a chip on your shoulder towards polys.. whats wrong?? did you get bullied in school? hehe

  • @riversgroove Sonny not making bench. Definately not best. Thats just wrong. Micheal Jones, Waka Nathan, Zinzan etc all better than Lomu. Lomu definitely had biggest impact.

  • @falla121 McCaw is hardly 3-4 time better then Williams. McCaw himself said Williams is a sporting freak...bigger...faster...stronger then any single athlete he had ever seen in the code of rugby. Williams is a once in a life time athlete. You have to remember there are 3 million Pakeha New Zealanders...and only 300,00 thousand Pacific Islanders. Read Phil Goulds article about the growing domination of Polynesian in the NRL...and Polys only make up 1% of the Oz population

  • YEAAAAH

  • Racially what are the people of Tonga classified as? Asians? Whites?Mixed Race?

  • @fmoham01 Tongans are classified as Pacific Islanders.

  • I was just reading about this kid. He is supposed to be really good. I hope to see him at Pitt next year although he would be better at Uconn.

  • no joke i had to mark this guy last year and im 5 11 haha he dominated... i did block him though chyea

  • this guy is actually the man, love going to school with this guy and makes athletics training hilarious

  • Can't wait for this guy to get to Pitt. I love the idea of having a big man with a mid-range game.

  • I heard he's playing now for a professional team in New Zealand for experience. He's not taking pay and it's cleared by the NCAA. He should be even more physically ready when he comes to Pitt.
