  • you have my hometown, AWESOME!

  • @leoninja Oh yeah, shot about 10 Houston area videos in 2010.

  • @Freewayjim thank you, i was over there recently visiting family for the holiday break and driving through those roads was one of the ways i would just relax.

also great job on the facts, i didnt know that the multi-level interchanges like the 610/59 had the name stack sand were not that common

  • @leoninja Those stack interchanges sure are common in Texas :) I relax by driving around the highways too, great minds work alike!

  • @Freewayjim are stacks not common elsewhere in the rest of the country?

  • @leoninja Texas and California have the most. Otherwise there are few sprinkled around other parts of the country, There's only 20 or so east of the Mississippi river that I can think of.

  • Houston Its Most Cities Have Interchange Ones Or More Cities In U.S Its True

  • Love Texas

  • Welcome to my town...drove I-10 for years in that killer traffic...glad they have expanded it...nice ride!

  • Houston is stupidly beautiful from the freeway! If they're smart about re-urbanization it could end up being one of the best cities in the U.S.

  • @Uaarkson Houston isnt that bad . i mean on course we have 3rd and 5th wards .. and south houston south and se of 610 . but other than that Houston isnt a bad place to live . you just gotta know what is wrong, right , and stay out of trouble areas . the city is second place behind nyc for the most fortune 500 companies in city limits .low cost of living . top notch shopping / dining / entertainment / tourism ,and the best damn freeways on earth. cant really ask for much more

  • What exactly is that strangely shaped overpass at 2:58?

LOL @ your commentary about the Pierce Elevated section of I-45, "like riding a wave runner." Never thought of it like that before, but that's a pretty good analogy.

Thanks for the soothing ride thru Houston.

  • @FreewayBrent Glad you enjoyed it! Strange indeed @2:58, I think it's just a diagonal thoroughfare, gotta love that 1960's construction.

  • @FreewayBrent overpass at 2:58 is a 2way union pacific railroad track. crossing i-10 at appx 50 degrees. 1 of them is the same one as you see in downtown at the i-10 45 connector over head on the freeway .. it was constructed in the mid 60s.

  • @FreewayBrent the rail is alos seen at 3:48 . not that im a rail fanner or anything . but at numerous points it splits into as many as 30 overall tracks for laoding purposes

  • damn , i just luv my city . another classic drive on the 10 , never gets old for me .

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 I luv your city too! especially at night.

  • 2:20 - 2:35 that ROW will swallow you up . 26 lanes wide without frontage: , THAT IS a serious WOW Factor.

  • despite all the signs on the houston area toll road system , saying ez-tag only , as of late 2009 , all houston area toll roads now accept toll transponders such as , ez-tag of course , txtag ,and toll tag , this new system is now statewide operational on tollwasy throughout Texas . HCTRA really needs to update the sings on the tollways , the only tollroad that i am not sure of is the hardy airport connector , which i believe is ez-tag only ..

  • the pierce elevated is one of my favorites on I-45 extending for about 5 miles , downtown south to cullen .. the row may never see a expansion ? , i hope txdot goes dual decked there in the future , btw amazing video h town , the one and only .

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 -Thanks! This one was fun to film and put together,
