According to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), Jesus Christ will descend from Heaven before the Day of Judgement in this very mosque and pray behind Imam Mahdi. Hazrat Yahya's (John the Baptist) head is buried here. The Byzantine Emperors were deeply in awe of the Muslims because of this mosque.
