  • So at the very beginning do you have to pull tension the set the anchor clamp or can you just stick it on there. because I just pull the string with my hands to put it on. it seems sort of pointless to pull tension just to let it go

  • I do like how the ancher starts the stringing, I tend to use a starting clamp myself, but I will start this and see how I like.

  • Does it matter at the beginning where you are pulling the strings to get them even, on which side you do that? ive seen people start on the grip side like what you do, and also on the top of the racquet (bumper gaurd side). Which is correct or does it matter?

  • @pararesis Depends on the racquet. Count the holes in the throat and divide that number by two. If the resulting number is odd, then you start at the throat (grip-side.) If the resulting number is even, you start at the head.

  • @YULitle Hey! thanks alot, although i was able to figure this out myself when i checked on my own racquet, i noticed it wouldnt be possible to start evenly at the bottom. Thanks for the feedback though, and great videos

  • @YULitle hi, sorry again, i have another quick question, as im very interested in starting to string my own racquets/ possibly at a local shop. when you go to tie off the knots do you always go two strings in from that outer main string? (like you did in this video) or does the number of strings to go in from the outer main have to do with the string pattern. i hope my question makes sense. (also i noticed on my racquet (at 16X20 string pattern, its done two strings in.) thanks!

  • @pararesis huiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • you stink

  • @lemonAids123 whats your problem...? i obviously asked this cause i didnt know much about stringing... and i didnt take the time to figure it out myself on my racquet and i realized that after i posted... im sure your SUPER great judging youre watching this beginners video too... get a life, punk

  • What is double pulling?? I am afraid I've been double pulling my rackets all along...

  • I'm about to buy the stringing machine of a shop which is closing. Si I'm really enjoying your videos and learning a lot, thank you so much. Nevertheless, if I remember well, this video was in two parts, and that second part dealt with you stringing the crosses and finishing this raquet out. Apparently that video has gone, could you uploead it again? Even if some of your videos actually deal with the crosses, none of them show the entire process of stringing the crosses and it is really too bad!

  • so which hole do you start with!!!?

  • amazing much apprecioated!

  • I want this stringer. It's much nicer than my Eagnas

  • what kind of racquet is that?

  • Hey I just got a stringing machine and I'm confused about where to start stringing...I have 2 ksixonetour90s that I switch off between for my highschool team. Should i begin threading the strings from the throat or the top of the racket? Also....sometimes I have trouble pulling my end knots tight myself so i pull a little bit of tension on it to tighten it. Would you reccomend that?

  • i noticed during this video when you pull tension the racquet appears to move and deform. is that actually happening to the racquet or is that your stringing machine moving?

  • why do you have to pull one string at a time in the beginning part where you just start the mains. I just pull both and then clamp them down, is that ok also?

  • Hey YULitle I have a question...When I set my anchor clamp at the beginning, how tight does my clamp need to be? I've been having problems of setting my anchor clamp then pulling the opposite string but my string is sliding through my anchor clamp and I don't get an exact tension? Should I make my clamp tighter? I'm worried I might damage the string. Thanks!

  • okay when you did pull the first string, what did you clamp it to? the untensioned string? or did you set the clamp by itself? totally confused

  • dude please help say isf i get my racket strung with babolat strings will it have the babolat sign on the strings?

  • How many of those have you done because you do it pretty fast lol.

  • whats the point of setting the anchor?

  • is this for one piece or two piece?

  • whats the point of pulling both the 2 starting main strings just to set one clamp and then release BOTH mains? Why wouldn't you just set the clamp straight away and then pull the tension?

    Thanks.

  • this is what is puzzling me to , totally got lost on the point of pulling both strings in the beginning. I use a klippermate and I clamp both strings then pull only the first, then clamp that to the starting pin

  • Well I ended up actually trying it. I think the point is that its safer for the string because its already stretched..Like if you clamp it and then pull for the first time, the string inside the clamp isn't being stretched but the rest is. By pulling first, clamping, then releasing, the string is stretched properly and less likely to tear at all when pulling the actual tension. This is what i've noticed.

  • NICE VID, i am breaking too many strings, as much as 4 times and month and i am using babolat ballistic strings, i am thinking of a machine, which is the most preferred?

  • you should go with the alpha revo 4000 because there one of the most prefered stringing machines and they run out pretty quick to

  • i just bought a Gamma procession II :O!@

    is that a good machine?

  • yea its a good machine , but alpha has better quality machines

  • but they are all definitely better than EAGNAS :D

  • definitely rite about tht , i bought an eagnas machine last summer it sucked ass i returned in a week and on top of that eagnas are chinese people so i didnt even get all my money back and i had to pay to ship it back!!!!!!!!

  • hey please answer this are klippermate machines good

  • hey dude awesome video i reall like ur videos but can do a video of ur self tying a knot on an actual tennis racquet when u end the mains because at the end of this video its a little bit blurry i have a hard time tying proper knots thanks man awesome video

  • YULigle - Can you show a video on how to start mains useing a starting clamp. I have a problem with string slipping from the fixed clamp with the first pull.

  • omg this helped so much thank you

  • hi , podrias poner este mismo video en español por que no entiendo mucho ingles y me interesa mucho encordar mi raqueta , si se puede claro y sino de todos modos gracias

  • YULitle! If you don't already have posted a video like this with floating clamps, can you do that? At my tennisclub we have an old stringing machine (Extreme or something) with drop weight pulling. I have learned to do first the one half of the mains, and then the other halv, and i have realized now that that is not good for my racket. I really want to learn the

good way to do this and not the way my friend thaught me.

Btw, Can i do a double pull with a drop weight stringing machine?

  • what is double pulling?

  • If I have a crank stringer would the double pull in the beginning be a good idea?

  • bloke who sold me my first machine about 20yrs ago taught restringing one side of mains and then the other if you can believe it! Didn't take me long to realise you have to do alternate individual main strings.

  • HEYY!!!, thats my microgel extreme strung with sonic pro!!!!!!!!

  • This only works properly on constant pull (i.e. electronic) machines. The double pull at the beginning gives each main HALF the desired tension, which is then trapped inside the first clamp.

If that main is then pulled again on a MANUAL machine, that "half tension" will jump out of the clamp, once it is released, and distribute itself along the entire main, so the overall tension will be LOWER than desired; a constant pull machine will adjust itself when that clamp is released.

  • thanks for the post...it's the best one of its kind so far....

  • Are you sure to pull the string from the heart side is correct? The head of the racket change the shape with this practice, probabily damaging it.

  • heart side? you mean short side? Even then, I'm not sure what it is you are asking.

  • Sorry, I refer about the side of the grip. Because our salesman of tecnifibre tells to us to pull the string only from the grip side to the head side, no both sides like this video.

  • OH, that's called double pulling and that is a NO NO. Never double pull.

  • how do you know which grommets to skip on the mains because some rackets have different patterns??is there a pattern guide or something??

  • I have a video on that called "Intro to Main skips..." That should tell you what you need to know.

  • My anchor clamp occasionally scraps the string. Should I tighten them. Im still not sure why its doing this. I have started to clamp the string low in the clamp below the rough teeth but this squashes the string a bit. Any suggestions. Thnx

  • Yeah, when the string slips through the clamp, that's bad. Clean your clamps, and tighten them as needed to keep it from happening again.

  • thnx. I have a spring loaded gamma machine and i have tried pulling both strings to set the anchor as you show here and it works well but I seem to loose some tension on those strings. Any ideas? I try to get rid of the tension after clamping and then pull but it doesn't seem to pull as far as it should on those starting strings.

  • You should only pull the two middle string to set the tension in the clamp. Both center mains should then be tensioned individually.

  • I always string my rackets one piece, but I pull 1 kg. (2 pounds) more on the mains than on the crosses. Is this something you do too? Can you also tell me what type and brand of string you think is best. Thanks.

  • I do it if the customer asks for it, and all brands have something to offer, it just depends on your criteria.

  • Thanks for everything yulite

  • Hey how much cost for the machine your using

p.s. is it the tecnifibre TF 7000 ;)

  • I believe they go for $6000, but I'm not sure as I did not pay for them. :D I do know that the shipping from France was expensive.

  • I have a the same racquet, head extreme and a babolat 16 string. I was just wondering how to set the clamps?

  • How do you mean? Email me, and I'll try to help.

  • what is the lenght of the string?

  • 20 feet for mains. 20 feet for crosses.

  • Hello YuLitle thank you for your videos they are great. I'm about to acquire a stringing machine, but it has apparently only one anchor clamp whereas on your machine you have two ones and use them both to start the mains, so how am I supposed to with only one ? Thank you for your answer !

  • You will need either one flying clamp or one starting clamp. Email me which.

  • yes, when I do racquetball racquets with the "Power Ring" I only pull tension at the head.... so two mains are pulled at once.

  • Hello - Do you do squash rackets? I need help on how to string those Prince 03 Tour/Blacks with the 'power ring'

  • If I had one to string, I'd do a video on it. But, I'm limited to what comes through the door. :D

  • hey so when you string these would you have to tension 2 mains at the same time being you can only clamp and pull tension from the head when doing mains (does that make sense?) Cheers

  • doh didnt no i comments twice, wat a noob >., haha

  • You also didn't know that I let go of the tension, then retensioned just one of them. That's ok though. :D

  • This method was taught to me by a USRSA MRT Proctor from South Carolina. I doubt he would teach me something that would auto-fail.

  • no really hahaha i actually did da same methods u did, and da lady dat was scoring me told me to stop, and she was like, alrite u fail -___- dat was so lame hahhaha funni but lame, iono i guess she was hard on me =/

  • That's awful man, I'm sorry. Mabe you could appeal to the USRSA for a free re-take. I know they're real nice people over there in CA. Plead your case politely enough and they just may. :D

  • well wen you pull both string on the first one u fail automatically for your certification test, all u had to do was clamp one againts da grommet tension da other one and work from there -___- how lame was dat haha

  • Great stuff! I never knew about setting the tension inside the clamp.

  • What about the short and longside? Do those apply at all with a 1 - piece stringing?

  • They only apply when you measure for a one-piece, and WHERE you put them matters on Prince O-port rackets and old Wilson rollers rackets

  • Just to avoid absolutely any confusion for people new to stringing - it should be mentioned that this is how to start mains for a 2-piece string job.

Also - why do you need to pull both of the mains before setting your anchor clamp?

  • The point of this was how to start them without double pulling. The purpose of pulling to set the anchor clamp is (short version) because it sets the tension inside the clamp so that there isn't a tension loss later when it is released.

  • gotcha - thanks for the reply.

  • What is wrong with double pulling? I usually do it on the main strings, because there isn't too much friction to really influence the tension.

  • no. The friction IS enough to matter. Not to mention the fact that you are pulling a longer piece of string, which affects the resulting tension. Good stringers don't double pull for tension.
