im not being a troll, just my opinion- horrorshow, the mc has pretty much taken a bunch of slug's lyrics and made it his own, and I've heard only 2 songs so far.
@kontrast1992 fair enough that you have that opinion, but solo always says he has been influenced by slug..and he hasnt copied any of his lyrics at all.. he has his own style and its 'cruel' to solo to suggest he doesnt
@dopeaus i know far too many people whose been influenced by slug and they sound nothing alike because slug actually teachers others to always be yourself, make ur own sound and be unique.. and I'm not hating on this band, their better then most. but please listen to this song Atmosphere made because way too many people started to mimic slug's entire style "Atmosphere - One of a Kind".. speaks for itself.
Horrorshow have amazing music. If you dig the video go out and grab their album 'Inside Story'. They have such a nice chilled tune and still manage to put on energetic & vibrant shows. Much love to Horrorshow.
cruisey song, not bad at all. if any people are keen check out, Lyrical Commission and Brad Strut, best aussie hiphop straight up, if ya up for some wicked shit! \m/AussiePride\m/
There is good hip-hop in the States. The difference, however, is that in Australia good hiphop seems to get airplay and (some) recognition whereas in the States the only "hiphop" that seems to get airplay is the mind-numbing, repetitive stuff.
If you turn on hiphop radio in the U.S. you'll find for the most part highly processed tracks made with what seems to be a focus on danceable beats and bad lyrics. All the people who actually have something important to say don't seem to get noticed.
@conceptbandmusic true, but i think were headed towards another golden age in the U.S. guys like 50 cent and soulja boy have already started to fall off ..for apparent reasons haha
@MinnysodaicE But the fact remains that people aren't asking for music that requires them to think in the States. I see it every day- I work in the U.S. school systems, and kids are listening to increasingly idiotic lyrical content. I don't think it's a matter of there being talent in either country. I think it's a matter of what's being requested...either that or payola, probably both. Do you have any suggestions of artists to check out?
@conceptbandmusic very true, and thats whats sad. But i think in time it will go back to the way it was.. yeah im from minneapolis so im sure u know of atmosphere? but o reccomend , Grieves, Fashawn, J cole, Blu & Exile, Abstract rude, P.O.S .. let me know what you think
@bulbulz44 hahahah yeah right, i dont listen to anything besides underground homie. i work for one of the biggest underground hip hop labels in the world..Rhymesayers... ever heard of it? Atmosphere? brother ali? P.O.S.? check it out.. but hip hop was born in America, Austrailia is not even close ive listened to plenty to know my shit
bullshit mate i know atmosphere and brother ali and they dont compare one bit to pegz or rezadent or bliss n eso or these fellas or cross bred mongrels or spit syndicate i can go mate
@hated1000 thats your opionoin dog.. but tell me why no one knows about Aussie hip hop? dont get me wrong i like the shit over there and i think it needs to be payed more attention to. But American hip hop (if the right artists) is untouchable.. convo ended and i bet im the only american thats watched this vid.. these guys are awesome btw
@MinnysodaicE since when did popularity mean your the best? Look at Soulja Boy, I mean seriously dont give the reason that because something is more popular its better. Btw I freaken love both aussie and american rap, I'd recommend listenin to Jay Electronica if you already havent he's an awesome upcoming US rapper, like his style more than J Cole but that my opinion.
That was awsome, there was so much energy in that room. It's so good to see meaningful hip-hop with emotion and lyrical clarity like these guys are putting out there. Thank you!
MY GOD. ITS RAP. I HATE RAP. BUT THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!
