I thought it was just me doing something wrong, I'm only lv30 at the moment and I've been having trouble keeping aggro during flashpoints and heroics, especially on groups of mobs - I think this is primarily due to not having a full party of people all the time, I have one friend that I level with all the time and he's a DPS of the same level. Keeping aggro on groups is especially difficult, I thought that maybe I wasnt geared well enough or something. Thanks for clarifying that it's not just me
Tanking as Jugg tank in Operations feels more like meat shield than anything else. We have been arguing about tanking in guild for a while now. Other tanks don't understand that you use all of your abilities to keep threat and DPS and heals still pull off. Our main tank has been douchey towards DPS and not taunting, telling them to throttle DPS more. We get a crap load of abilities for a reason and I enjoy the jumping all over the place style of tanking that is displayed in this vid.
ppl who are talking about wow there is no differance between each other they all have the same aggro in a specfic aggro form (Ex. bear form for druid)it is all about how u play ur tank
Nice video. I'm playing on a 50 Juggernaut and find it really difficult to tank bigger groups. Let's say if you have groups of 5 and they are spread over a wide area, also 3 of them are ranged dps and you have no way of getting the group together to land your smash on all (or even most of them). Up to now i never can keep all of the 5 targetting me and its just thanks to our high dps and good healers in the group we'll survive such a fight. Anyway you playstyle gave me some new input. thank you
Enjoyed the video, I would like to see how your thoughts change as you continue to tank and gear up plus future input as changes to the game are made.
Single target threat generation is fine, and I have no difficulty in Operations. AOE or multiple target threat is definitely an issue to most, however, providing you have a good team of dps who focuses on a single target, like they should, then it's fine.
Tanking shouldn't be easy, wow was just a joke, and I've never really approved of having Druids, pallys and death nights tanking. There's just no skill required to spamming 2 buttons.
IMO they shouldn't buff us with threat too much. It'll so
DPS Focusing on a single target is irrelevant. Your healer is going to get threat or dps is. You can't generate enough threat on all the mobs to keep it off of your healer and keep threat on the main mob to keep it off your dps. Period.
I played a warrior at release in WoW. Wow was terrible at the beginning. You didn't even tank as protection, you tanked as arms. Having only one class to tank is terrible design. You just have nostalgia.
I don't want consecrate/holy shield to be how i tank.
its crazy its like who you attack first , charge , change target, choke , slam ,change target, scream , change target, taunt ,change target , push , its crazy you hafto be so aware and so on top of your cd's and what mobs are doing what and when , that if you dont have a computer that runs the game well ( i do not , all low settings and i get mad vid lag, makes it crazy hard to tank ) that you might as well not try .
great vid, i was a MT for an end game guild on wow. Played a druid. Figured what the hell ill tank on SWTOR .. WRONG.... i rolled a jug so confusing, untill i learned what your talking about. none of the the abilities we have just generate threat , besides the stance. I was spaming my sundering assault and slam wondering why i sucked so bad. pretty frusturating. Then i started doing what you are talking about in this vid. its more about controlling the flow of mobs in the pull.
Thank You. I'm playing Jedi Knight and I find out hard to tank (am lvl 31 atm.). Now I know is not just me having hard time on this... I think they should make aoe Force Sweep/Smash leaving dot that could help... Single target is possible to manage with 2 taunt rotation, but they can easy fix this making Guarded target transferring like 10-15% of threat to Tank.

i started rolling a juggernaut as an alt, i've always been a ranged dps and I actually enjoy the difficulty in tanking in this game

@Inglorious8 Yea, I definitely prefer this to DK tanking. As soon as they fix ability delay I'll be in heaven.

@Manxman86 ...holy shield to be how i tank. That's ridiculously boring, but I would actually like to be able to hold threat on everything.
