Why do they do these cheesy remakes? I never recalled hearing a single soul complaining about the in MY opinion timeless classic that people seek for first instead of this newer garbage. This is like trying to remake "The Wizard Of Oz", your embarrassing yourselves movie makerz! Try to do something REALLY creative & challenging like making a real life version of "The Little Mermaid" or something...

People say they would have been nice to someone like Carrie, but I can't help being a bit cynical about the sincerity of such remarks. I was eleven years old when I befriended an outcast and I got crucified by the rest of the class over it. They couldn't stand for the poor girl to have even one friend. "Would've been nice to her"...my ass! Most people wouldn't throw themselves on a live grenade like that for someone else. At that age there's a sacrifice to be made for being nice to a misfit.
@mplsmn1975 Well, since I WAS a misfit, it wouldn't have been a problem for me. Nobody liked me anyways, so it never really was a sacrifice . To me and my friends, we were all we had sometimes. Other times, I guess people talked to me cuz they felt sorry for me. Pity friendship. They said hi every now and then, but didn't really hang out. As for now, I would be nice to anyone I see being picked on. I don't know if we would be best friends because every situation is different...but i'd try. :)

@xsardonyxmemoirsx I've heard that the age of eight is the youngest age in which a girl can begin her menstrual cycle. I hear that it is very rare, but that it happens. Although, it is incredibly weird that a girl can be fertile at that young and pretty scary. I had my first menstruation when I was 12.

LOL! this shower scene is a bit unrealistic...for one, in many middle and highschools, nobody took showers.
Also, lookig at those girls....islike seing the same person...its abit unrealistic. At least in the original, there was at least ONE girl who was on the thick side...this looks like a school for models or something...

@morikahjo Well, the book was written in the 1970s...I'm not old enough to know for sure, but I'm pretty sure they took showers in school back then...plus everyone is usually skinny in movies. But yeah, it's pretty unrealistic.

@TheRogueChild i hated school too for the same reason. I wasn't treated badly by anyone. I wasn't popular but i was nice so people tended to leave me alone. But seeing how those few really unpopular people got treated REALLY bugged the hell out of me. Being sort of sensitive i used to worry about them quite a bit and wonder how they got through a day..

I think her Jennifer's Body co-star Amanda Seyfried would be a good Carrie though, yet they shouldn't remake it in my opinion. I hate all these remakes, even Hellraiser is being remade.

The only thing I really hate about this version is her mom. She is way too mellow and calm like. In the 1976 version she is loud and outspoken. But overall this is a great remake.
