@PokerPlum Well you're right on the fact that MOST americans have never seen anywhere else, but my dad was a marine who toured the holy land, Alot of europe. He went on to be a truck driver for about 13 years, he's seen all 48 states and he still say the U.S is the most beautiful of it all.

@PokerPlum many countries claim their own land to be the best in the world. youll see this is guatemala, china, etc., not just the US. nationalism and regional pride arent exclusive to the US.
as far as travel, when your country is 40 times the land area of the UK, and only borders two other countries, traveling internationally is hardly feasible. an American living in Kansas has to travel over 800 miles to leave the US.
seattle to miami is the same driving distance as london to india.

While I wouldn't say we're worst in standing today, I stay humble and show support for a lot of other countries (I'm interested in moving to JAPAN someday !). But, I dunno, I think, to me, this song could simply represent any one country, or all of us. I think it just talks about a person being really glad to live in their country, and be alive with their family. I happen to fit extremely well there.
