  • I used to be crazy about MF . . . I suppose I still am . . .

  • Simply beautiful!

  • The one and only, the unique: Marianne Faithfull... What a dream.

  • great song and vid , love it !

  • 60' s MF songs give off impression of elizabethan ambience.

I think she would embody a great Ophelie from Hamlet in a movie...

  • yes definitely , i love the ambience of this style and backing vocals

  • @TheMauvetys She did play Ophelia! In Tony Richardson's 1969 version.

  • @disgust79 knock off the spamming

  • whore

  • Still the most beautiful sound in any language for centuries to come- Some have passed out listening to this-I hear primeval voices hearing it...it changes ones life for good or forever...Marianne-Hapsburg Baronesses daughter

  • Oh!!!!!!

  • always loved the pure clarity of this song.

  • Interesting... she really sounds like Tori Amos here... some coparisons are obvious...

  • I love it

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard! The lyrics are wonderful!

  • @DreamLordGarsha The lyrics and music of this song were written by Eric Woolfson, who later went on to form The Alan Parsons Project. Sadly he passed away recently. R.I.P.

  • Fantastic!

  • I don't know what is it, I don't know who is it. But this song is awesome ! I love it :)

    (sorry for my english)

  • i like that you love it ;)

i also love your ivy vids <3

  • Did you make the video effect ?

  • i messed w/colors, sharpness & saturations

  • To the ends of all possible worlds, Marianne,

    I will follow thee...

  • the dream has just begun....

  • thanks i love marianne faithfull. saw her so many times. met her right before she sang at the ritz in nyc during her broken english comeback performance. she sang because the night, for patti. still have all her albums on vinyl. a good actress too. LOVE YOU MARIANNE never stop always look forward to the next album but broken english reamins my favorite. thanks for this vid. love her early stuff too.

  • "Broken English" is indeed awesome. i saw her twice in the early 90s, once so close she actually smiled at us when someone shouted out "Lucy Jordan!"

this particular cut, as you may be able to tell, is from realitively old vinyl. (sounds almost mono-ish, infact lol) ...i have other early stuff by her in better shape, but i thought this song might flow well with these images. this is the second vid of what will be a trilogy.

~ thanx for the kind komments ;)

  • you are very welcome. i love vinyl scratches. i have all her old stuff. way prefer analog sound anyway. in the process of getting a new turntable. i play records all the time. love them. i met marianne outside the ritz in nyc during that historical performance. got her autograph and she was swigging a heiniken. true to form at that time!! i even have her version of van morrisons sister george. still have that autograph in one of her albums.

thanks for all you do!love all your edie, nico too

  • no prob. i have a good turntable but need a new needle hehe. vinyl scratches are in again anyway.

that's fantastic that you met her! marianne was here signing her bio, but i didn't get to go ;'(

you're welcome also, i enjoy doing viddys for this groovy websight, and putting visuals behind old (and new) faves <3

  • forgot to tell you that when i saw her at the Paradise in boston, she left her whiskey glass right in front of me. she picked it up and handed it to me. ofcourse i slugged it all down. she smiled!! oooooh what a memory.

afterwards i stayed and drank all night hoping she would show up at the bar but she didnt. she left sigh that was after i mether at the ritz. that ritz performance was her first in the usa in over ten orso years. bowie was in the audience. wish he had come out and played too.

  • great story ~ thanx for the details!

musta been phenomenal seeing the "Broken English" tour

i also love the "Dangerous Acquaintances" record....

  • yes, i love Dangerous Acquaintances as well. have it on cd so i can playit in the car. love the picture on the album cover too.

aaaaaaaaah marianne. glad that the ABFAB writers cast her as God. good choice.

  • yes the cover pic is fantastic! her lips are soo chapped, & the wet hair looks soo cool. her recent work w/billy corgan (on "Kissin' Time") was also brilliant.
