Gay wasn't injured here and he didn't beat his personal best, not even close! Gay ran 9.84 here, his PB is 9.69 and Bolt's is 9.58 so what are you talkin about? Either way Gay did have a sick season no doubt, and he stayed undefeated in 100m.

@SuperMhouston true, but it's not much different than when Bolt was just recoverin from a car accident injury when he ran his straight 14.35s 150m WR. it's pretty obvious Bolt was injured here though, he ran 9.83 easily into a headwind just before this in Paris but struggled to go sub 10 against competition here.
@SuperMhouston In fact he's not even behind him, Bolt ran 150m Gay ran 200m, to totally different races and you have to consider that there is pacing involved in running the race in it's entirity. Had Tyson been running a 150m then I'm confident you can take a tenth off that time, aside from that Gay always seems to be running with a niggle or an injury so I don't think Bolt has any excuse, he got beaten by the better man on the day, simple.
Gay works hard but Bolt is just undoubtedly the fastest man I have ever seen. His injury played a huge role in him losing. He ended his season right after this to prepare for the championship year in 2011. If Gay can beat Bolt next year when he is fully fit...Then we can certainly say he was the better man on the day. Not to take away any credit from the lad...He really does put in man hours.

@sampues1 it doesn't show tyson's getting better because he's run faster than that before. all it shows is that bolt is injured. loads of people are going on as if bolt wasn't injured and gay was just faster, but bolt can run under 9.8 in any race he wants

@SuperMhouston Gay had a fair win here but Bolt did have a slight back injury during this race which prevented him from being able to use his whole stride length, you can even see it in his form and relaxation that he wasn't in the same shape as Gay. Gay wasn't injured here and he didn't beat his personal best, not even close! Gay ran 9.84 here, his PB is 9.69 and Bolt's is 9.58 so what are you talkin about? Either way Gay did have a sick season no doubt, and he stayed undefeated in 100m.

@SuperMhouston true, but it's not much different than when Bolt was just recoverin from a car accident injury when he ran his straight 14.35s 150m WR. it's pretty obvious Bolt was injured here though, he ran 9.83 easily into a headwind just before this in Paris but struggled to go sub 10 against competition here.

@SuperMhouston In fact he's not even behind him, Bolt ran 150m Gay ran 200m, to totally different races and you have to consider that there is pacing involved in running the race in it's entirity. Had Tyson been running a 150m then I'm confident you can take a tenth off that time, aside from that Gay always seems to be running with a niggle or an injury so I don't think Bolt has any excuse, he got beaten by the better man on the day, simple.

Gay works hard but Bolt is just undoubtedly the fastest man I have ever seen. His injury played a huge role in him losing. He ended his season right after this to prepare for the championship year in 2011. If Gay can beat Bolt next year when he is fully fit...Then we can certainly say he was the better man on the day. Not to take away any credit from the lad...He really does put in man hours.
