A troupe of downtuned farting bullfrogs could bang out this melody onto a thin sheet of tin, and it would still provoke the same reactions in the same people. It's a simple fact of science, not a matter of which version is somehow better. The accompaniment is about as relevant to it all as the album cover is, and men have known this for thousands of years before Bocelli or Botti!
Instead of a "Like" Button there should be a "Love" button. The way Chris plays on this song hits me in so many ways. such a wonderful song! Thank Goodness there are musicians like Chris Botti that invoke such feelings!
I love this song! It has great trumpet parts, and great parts to the instrument I play, French horn! I wish my school had orchestra, not just band, because I would suggest this to my directors :)
@owenreyes yeah I was turned on to him last year, and had tickets to see him in Louisville, but had to pull out at the last minute (family crisis) but a friend got me tickets for St Louis this next February, and I can't wait.
I'm playing this song right now in memory of my friend Angelina Posca who was killed in a car crash. you can look her up. they played this song at the funeral. april 1st 2009 was the day of her death...less than an hour away...until april 1st 2010
Find Andrea Bochelli and Sarah Brightman's version!! I had it played as part of my Italian Father's funeral services and there wasn't a dry eye in the chaple...beautiful music brings such emotions...thank you Chris Botti....
This is my favorite version. I was so sorry when Chris didn't win a Grammy for "Italia." He is nominated again this year for something? I am rooting for him!
this tune is also known as por ti volare, sung by pavoratti boccelli and countless others...recently brought into pop culture fame by the movie Stepbrothers
The first time I heard this I was driving down an old country road in Oklahoma. It was early in the morning and the sun was beginning to rise in the east. I started crying and couldn't stop. I had to pull my car over to the side of the road because I could no longer see through my tears. This man's music moves me. I don't know much about musical theory or technique, but I do know that I never tire listening to Botti! Thank you, Chris.
You described it perfectly for me, I heard him early last year, and have not recovered, everything I listen to him its like he is breathing for me, and the only way I can get air to to listen, I know it doesn't make sense but, he is so amazing, I am travling to Kentucky to her him for the first time, and I live in the middle of Missouri, its an early b-day gift to me...well take care.......L.
I am so thankful that you are going to here him. I have been to several of his converts. I am never disappointed. He will have a "meet and Greet" after his performance. It is worth standing in line to shake his hand and say"hello." He is always very kind. Be sure to take pictures.
@garland1001 Well said. this particular peace is so breathtaking...brings me to tears also. Just lost a close relative. I am thinking of her as I listen to this piece over and over again. It is like going to church..thanks for posting. Patti
Thank you my sweetheart for sharing this with me....Chris does an amazing performance of this Sarah & Andrea Hit Song.....Just fantastic "hunnie".
Always my love and I promise I'll never say those words to you Robby.....My words to you Robby will always be "Till We Are Back In Each Other's Arms" be safe....

It's the horn playing that makes this arrangement work. Botti's trumpet is heard on less than half the song.

@flytommy1 Sorry, I meant "piece". speaking of which, this puts me at "peace!"
flytommy1 1 year ago
No, it was originally arranged/performed by Francesco Sartori, Lucio Quarantotto, and Frank Peterson.
But a bunch of well known artists like Andrea Bocelli and Chris Botti have performed it over the years
