  • @Chay714 There were no video cameras in the 1960's and most if not all of the home movie cine cameras did not have sound, which is an awful pity. There were cine cameras which had a sound recording system but I imagine that they were expensive.

  • Saw Cackler in her shed in 1962 but she was not in steam, very nostalgic thanks for showing this.

  • Good vid!!

  • For anyone looking at this who wants to get some old cine film converted to dvd, I can only advise you NOT to use alivestudios.co.uk. Very professional website, very BAD service. Oh and if they owe you a refund for something, you never get it.

  • The Welshpool clip is very interesting

  • Great footage.

Especially the WLR through the town

  • Why the need for a sound track? Anyway, the camera must have been a good quality one, I'm not too sure the Agfa offerings at the time would have been up to the job. Unless the images have been cleaned up prior to transfer.

  • What kind of camera was used to film it? i mean, brand, model number...

  • The cine photographer used a Standard 8mm camera, possibly an Agfa, but I am not sure beyond that. This was filmed in 1957-57 before the advert of Super8.

  • sound makes all the difference even if its some suitable music

  • Good but needs a soundtrack

  • Cackler is now hidden away at Thursford, Norfolk - thanks for showing us this glimpse of the past. Alex

  • Impressive series of 8 Mm films.

    Good job.
