@TheDudeJeffCanuckski ~It's funny when I see comments from my old channel. "Thank you Bennie, Thank you Elton, a beautiful weekend". ~Aloha Bobby and Rose. (Hi Rose)
I remember seeing this movie in 75 at a drive in theater at age 9. My favorite part was when they had to push start the Camaro. I now own a 68 Z/28, and think of this movie everytime I hear Benny and the Jets.
My brother and i also saw this movie in 1975 at the San Rafael drive-in w/ our baby sitter & her boyfriend. I was 9 my brother was 8. We hid under a blanket to get in. We loved it! We always wanted to see the movie again, but could never find it.
I saw this in 1975 at the Drive-ins with my babysitter and her boyfriend. I was 9 at the time and they had to take me along because she was babysitting me. We were in a 1969 Camaro SS396. This movie was AWESOME, it (movie) plus that 69 Camaro SS396 got me into first gen Camaros. Today, I have a 1969 Camaro Z/28. I love the 67,68, & 69's with my heart!! plus I have the DVD to this.
Love this film and song. Apart from the story, bit of a car lover myself and there's a clip where Bobby's friend is attending to his pick up, there's a great sunset and the hood lowers automatic, sure of it, if I remember correctly! The piano playing in this song is great too. And the days of hot-roddin', bliss all round...
Correct me if i am wrong i only had a tried old vhs rental of this movie, but i notice there is no musical credit's at the beginning or at the end ??.
the ending of this movie made me cry when i saw it in the theater when i was a kid. out of curiosity, i rented it again and realized that it really isn't that good a movie after all, but if you really want to see it, it is available on Netflix
This movie had a profound effect on me when I was young. I saw it at the drive-in with my friends. I credit this movie with teaching me to love cars, (and Paul Lemat ;-)). And I'll never EVER forget the ending.........

Thank you, phantom5691!!
It made me cry too, when I saw it. I was lucky enough to see it with a friend who had it.
It should be rated right up there with American Graffiti.
