It was very hard to accept when my dad called and tell me about his death until his wife confirmed. today makes 56 days since we match together in church for his wedding. Knowing JESUS is there should have always made it easy to go Home (Matthew 19:29 "Everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times more, and he will obtain eternal life.") This song, to me, is saying that because their loved one is there then Heaven is worth leaving this earth/life for! I'm not getting it. Is this a Christian song or just a tear jerker?

It's both...Even for christian believers of a lifetime...death is a scary thing. I believe this song helps people deal with the loss of their loved ones...It reinforces GOD's word that we will meet again in paradise one day. It also serves as a message to unbelievers that they miss out on a lot...One of those losses is of course seeing loved ones again one day. It also reinforces that death is NOT the end for us..but just the beginning of the most wonderful life that lasts forever.

I love this song. My beautiful sister, Connie passed away four years ago this coming Christmas. This song describes her perfectly. I miss her more than I can ever convey. I saw her a couple of times a year and one of those times was at Christmas. She was thrilled when the holidays came and she could be with family. We talked by phone almost every day. carey, the GVB has gone through some changes and is now comprised of 5 members.. probably you know that.. Wes Hampton, Michael English, David Phelps, Mark Lowry, and Bill Gaither.. Marshall Hall and Guy Penrod are not presently going to be performing .. I don't know much more than that personally, I have heard that Marshall may be accepting a position in a church as a worship leader. .. and I know nothing about Guy other than he's at home with Angie and the boys.. hope that helps.. blessings.
