Somewhat inclined to agree in a way. I dislike Scientology, and I followed the protests from the start (ie, from before the DDOS attacks). I think protesting for freedom of speech and using such attacks is hypocritical in the least... but I do support the protests outside the Scientology centres. As was said, its not the beliefs that people are angry about, its the way Scientology conducts itsself and treats some of its members.

Because the business of Scientology is classified as "a church", it's in a position to receive tax benefits and in some cases federal funding. There are many cults of people that would be denied a church status for instance and I think Anonymous calls into question the legitimacy of the Scientologists activity. The problem of course is that everyone's tax dollars inevitably then go to supporting Scientology so its not unreasonable for anyone to be interested. - Andrew

Google/Youtube Lisa McPherson. I'll tell you a little about her. She was a Scientologist. She paid A LOT of money for "courses" in Scientology, and she was in an accident. She was in an accident, and was mentally sick. The Scientologists locked her up for 17 days, and when she was taken to a Hospital (they took her to the one with a scientologist doctor), she was dead. She had been starved, dehydrated, abused and had bruises and bites from cockroaches.

She is one of many.

It's very interesting to watch the campaign unfold, but it's also difficult to predict what the consequences will be: to some extent the protests seem to be more successful in unifying local subversives than undermining the Church of Scientology. I also find it interesting how the "tone" of the original anonymous video content is so much more mysterious and menacing then the gregarious pranksters that are showing up in person... the juxtaposition is somewhat comical.
