i had an 86 stang with a 2.3L with the 4spd toploader trans in it, i think thats what its called. the motor was a rigged up 2.3 4 banger with a one barrel carb on it, had a aftermarket header and cherry bomb on it. it was a 4 plug not an 8 plug. i was told the motor was rebuilt and it looked it but didnt know for sure. but i tell ya what it had some balls for a 4 banger and i could smoke it just as bad as this one here... even hung with a saturn redline on the highway...

my 2.3 liter 5speed top end would run right beside a stock 5.0 they would get me on take off but i would catch up in 3rd gear and they could not out run me top end ... mine was a 1991 2.3 eight plug had 110 horses stock ... had a saleen body kit on it ( after market and was on when i bought it ) dual exhaust straight out the back that sounded like a 5.0 with flowmasters but did not have flows on it .... i wished i never got rid of the car ... i have been looking for it since i sold it!!!

@halflife103 it has plenty of hp and if you open it up a bit with a cold air intake and a flowmaster 40 or 44 and e3 sparkplugs and take off the ac belt under the hood your looking arruond 120 hp or even more... mine is a 5 speed and i did those mods and a little more and i can beat most honda's non turbo iv beat si vtech with my little stang

@scagy23 like what else do u want me to explain??? other things i did was port match the upper and lower intake to the gasket with a drimmel.. and 2.5L ranger tubbler header with heat wrap and 94 gt 60mm throttle body ohh and im running full synthetic oil it seems to help... Iv done these mods about 3 or 4 month's ago and now i have even more power so that person that said i cant beat honda's and si is even more wrong cause now i beat up on them even more lol... friend has integra si and i win..

as for how fast ur car is well stock they have 88hp (at the crank, last dyno i saw was 49whp at 4900rpm)
minus the nomal power loss over time with an engine and the mods you have, id say ur looking at about 90-95crank hp or about 65-70whp. thought i'd inform you

Yes, one off of a 94 or 95 Mustang GT. You just need to do work on the throttle linkage to get them to work. Racer Walsh sells a Big Bore throttle body for the 2.3L that runs around $400 which is a total ripoff. All it is is a 94-95 Mustang GT throttle body.
The ranger roler cam what have gotton you better results, nice any way. My cam pully broke and my cam and cam bearings are shot now, which means it is time for upgrade!
