I HAVE been to Ireland and the stereotype that Irish are drunk all the time (maybe 4 days a week their whole life) and fight for no reason on a regular basis is TRUE. It's not a stereotype, it's real. The Irish drink a lot more and get in a lot more fights than the stereotype suggests. The fights don't usually involve hitting though, just trash talk, teaming up with friends, and pushing

That American stereotype is true for most of the states except the ones on the coasts (which are highly populated), and then the cities in Texas are pretty good. I would say not stupid though, just ignorant and not exposed to much culture

But I'm Irish and live in a commuter town 40 miles from Dublin and the only alcoholic scumbags that I've seen on the streets of Dublin are from rough working class inner city areas and Eastern Europeans scum(such as vodka guzzling polish!)! They are not representitive of the overwhelming majority of Irish people, so I'm sorry if you got that impression!
