1) Make sure you don't full throttle on launch - The motor has enough torque that it will rip itself off the fuselage. Trust me I did it on mine.
2) Always check servo operation before each flight - a simple up,down, left, right will give you confirmation that nothing is stuck and each servo is operational. the last thing you want to do is throw a plane in the air when something is not working.
3) Bring Tape & toothpicks! it'll keep u in the air longer !!!! & have fun!
@heli400 I didn't have any problems with the motor mount you just have to load it up with hot glue and it infuses into the foam. Made this video about a year ago so I'm well into the hobby and those are great tips. Thanks for commenting.
@popkamama I used strapping tape. To connect the aileron you just use a little tape at each end and one strip in the middle then repeat on the bottom while its folded so you get inside the bevel.
The RCPowers Extra is definitely a fun little machine. I made mine with much smaller electronics than recommended, but it weighing like 8 ounces really pays off!
@RcPlanesAreAwsome It does! :D Although there are much better plane designs than the Extra from RCPowers. I prefer the stuff I come up with, they fly really well.
My Extra had a temparary retirement, somewhere in there, the servos, motor, esc and so on made their way to other planes. So I felt like flying it and put my Eflite Park 450 motor, 30 amp esc, and 1250 mah 30c battery on it. Lol, have to know how to torque roll to hover it now! :D
@RCvehicleGuy I salvaged my parts for the extra and used the motor and esc to turn a chuck glider into a non motorized but controlled glider and now its motorized ill make a video in the next month.
Nice Job, Does your CG work well with both servos on one side? Or are you going to balance it out with the battery? Would like to see your maiden flight.
@ZenCodeMonkey The battery balances them out its mounted on the right. I'm going to put up the maiden it's really old, I had a previous account but it got hacked so i'm working on getting the video up. Thanks for commenting. -Daniel
not a beginner plane lol

hey great job keep it up. but u should use more glue u dont want a servo
to fall of it flight just a heads up
corbonzo1 5 months ago
@corbonzo1 I actually used double stick tape because it holds on really well but if you crash it will detach instead of stripping your servo.
