  • Were did you get the loco at 1:55

  • omg thats soo cool

  • Very nice. I have a couple of those Rogers 4-6-0s. I painted, detailed, and weathered one as Arcade & Attica RR No. 3, because it so faithfully mirrors the prototype.

You can Google it if you're interested: "Arcade & Attica No. 3 in HO Scale". I can't post the Flickr link for some reason. In the photo series, if you look, there's a Mogul version of that Tyco that I also painted, detailed, and weathered, as Arcade & Attica No. 1.

  • According to the books/mags I've read, the procedure for decalling is -

    1. Paint with gloss colours.

    2. Apply decals.

    3. Use setting solution (Google it) on the decals.

    4. Spray with matte clear (Testors Dullcote is a good brand).

  • Very nice locomotive fleet you have there, by the way!

  • With the decals, you should still be able to get away with flat black paint. One method to prevent visible air bubbles underneath is to brush on Future floor wax where you want the decals. When that dries, apply the decals, then put another coat of floor wax over them when they're dry. Then apply your flat clear coat over that--they should look like paint; this method works well with model planes using flat colors.

  • Where did you get the domes on your Mantua/Tyco 4-6-0?

  • @TheRailbaron

The domes are the ones that came with it! They are not replacements. They may look new, but that's only because I cleaned them up and pollished them to remove the tarnish.

  • Gunslinger87? Do you mean to say StudiosGunslinger? Nice engines. Rivarossi did make some engines that seem to be Double O Gauge. I wonder why

  • @fallingup90

"Gunslinger87" is my usual screen with whatever websites I join. I used to have a Gunslinger87 account here, but I lost access to it.

  • the head light is red and green and the wheels or red and i love the paint job because its very different

  • @caseyjonesfan

Much Obliged! Believe it or not, but the Tyco 4-6-0 is the first locomotive I have ever painted! I did mess up a little though, I used flat balck where I should have used gloss. That is unless I can find some suitable dry transfer decals. The color scheme is my own and I'm glad you like it! :)

  • Hello all, today I bought proto 2000 steam collection 920-60003 PRR #8360 2-10-2 steam locomotive, brand new in store for $116. Is this locomotive worth it? I've been looking around for a nice locomotive for under our tree. It doesn't seem like it will smoke, but it just seemed like it would be a good buy for a large HO steam loco.

  • The Tyco 4-6-0 was made bigger for "little hands" who watched "Pettiecoat Junction", the TV show. ( Before your time) Replace the oversize cab and it looks better.

  • I love it but do you have any modern locos like a 4-8-4 northern

  • can i offer up a trade for the 2-6-0 or any other engines you're ready to give up

  • U got awesome loco's man! :)

  • why no more videos?

  • lol I forgive you my christian brother !

  • Nice work on the Tyco Sierra Ry. #3(that's the sole surviving prototype's roadname and number). I have a true HO scale model of the locomotive that I scratch-built, and it runs surprisingly well. Again great work, and nice video!

  • what paint did you use for the boiler jacket on the rogers?

  • Loving that tyco 4-6-0.

  • I would go for a wood burner on the black engine. It will add a good contrast between the black and silver. Also a very very good paintjob on that Tyco engine. Looks very realistic now.

  • @gc53dfgc

Actually, I intend on painting the 2-8-0 in the same color scheme as the Tyco 4-6-0. I do seem to be leaning more towards making it a wood burner, however I am still uncertain about it.

  • Use gloss clear coat, easier and looks just as good

  • the paint scheme for the jw boker will look like the ie james a v&t loco

  • i have a j.w. bowker also that i repainted to the way the v&t got it in 1875. nice video btw.

  • thats a nice fleet, I have 2 tyco 1890 4-6-0s. Can't wait to see the J.K. Bowker finished!

  • what about any oill bruner

  • @theshedrailway The Roundhouse 2-8-0 came originally as an oil burning loco, however I hated the oil bunker on it and removed it. I'm not really fond of oil burning steam engines. My preference is wood or coal burners.

  • im getting a roundhouse 2-6-0 and that exact same rogers 4-6-0

  • HOn3 would be nice to get, if anything go for the K-28. That way if we (as in Sam, Barret, & myself) have the operating session on Sam's W&A this summer / spring we can have the Gunpowder Falls in there. In fact we might find some way to get you over here to help out. I'll have to talk it over with them. ^^ We could always use a fourth pair of hands.

  • @Georgia1026 Well given how thigs are going on my end I don't know how feasable that will be. ^^;

And finding an HOn3 K-28 is VERY hard as they seem to be quite rare. I fiund one on ebay and it was nearly $3,000!!! Whis is absolutely absurd.

However, HOn3 "As-Built" K-27s, just like GFRR #12, seem to be quite accessable! ;)

  • @StudiosGunslinger Ok then. ^^

  • @Georgia1026 Rest assured, one day it WILL happen. One day... One day my friend!! XD

  • @StudiosGunslinger Ok A,J., I wish you luck dude. ^^

  • @Georgia1026 Much Obliged!! I deffiently need it. :)

  • @StudiosGunslinger No problem.
