  • This was a great show especially in the early seasons this scene still hits me hard when i see it what a classic scene why did they have to screw it up by changing the music in it

  • oye como se llama la canacion en el minuto 10.06

    gracias

  • @amaraltanger Nights in White Satin, de los Moody Blues.

  • Wowww, totally didn't see any of this romance stuff until now....I haven't finished watching the first season with my dad, and we're not to this point of the season as it is, but it hasn't ruined anything for me. Just kind of ... changed the way I'm gonna watch it. I'm a happy girl knowing this now, haha.

  • To me this is the best love scene between 2 men. I remember when I saw the final scene...I though...they learned to love each other. That's real love with such beautiful song in the background...the perfect scene.

  • The first "bromance."

  • Remember the 60s Vinnie?

    How're you gonna remember this?

How're you gonna remember me, Vinnie..?

  • I've loved this scene ever since I first saw it, and was so unhappy when I got the DVD to find that different music had been used. So glad you've posted this.

  • Sonny died of aids in 1993

  • I love you...

  • I will never forget where I was at when this episode aired. What an ending. Though there is not enough video that shows what happened, I am still am brought to tears knowing how it all ended. The best season ever..

  • what was the nature of the dspute between Ken Wahl and the producers which resulted in him being written off the series?

  • @BibleJoker2Face Sorry for the late response. I have been interested in that for some time now. As luck would have it, my third cousin just married a chick whose cousin is Jim Carrey's agent. As this is a very highly connected individual, he knows a lot of people. At the wedding, Steve Schirripa (who is a good friend of my uncle's) was talking about about Wiseguy, and how without it he wouldn't have a job.

  • @BibleJoker2Face My new aunt's cousin turns out to know Ken Wahl. Apparently, he wanted to shoot in LA and an executive producer credit (and the cash that goes with it.) He said he kinda went a little nuts at the end and eventually the only option was to let him 'choose not to return.' It has been reported that he was having personal problems ranging from a drug habit to a gay affair, but I'm not sure those rumors weren't just the result of someone with an axe to grind.

  • @BibleJoker2Face but in any case, they killed him off so he knew the door was not open to return at any point. That was the reason they didn't just "reassign" Vinnie or something.

They talked about Wiseguy for like 5 minutes. Steve is a HUGE fan as it turns out.

By the way, Steve played Bobby Bacala on The Sopranos, so that's why he credits Wiseguy for his career.

It was a cool party, too. We were on a yacht. It was awesome. Anyway...

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx, i found out otherwise from an article online. thanks, though. i'll message you the link to the article probably tomorrow. please also see my comments on the Season 4 Intro to this show.

  • love it

  • This was one of my favorite tv shows growing up. To this day, every time I hear "Nights in White Satin", I always think about this scene and how good Ray Sharkey was in it. The writing, the acting, and the music was just perfection. Deniro and Pacino couldn't have done any better. RIP Ray Sharkey

  • @aprildps RIP Ray Sharkey!? I can't believe he's dead! I thought this was in bad taste, thought you meant that about his character in the show but I just looked him up. He died of AIDS?! In 1993? 18 years ago!? Wow, this is the first I've heard of it! I'll always remember how candid he was in his Regis & Kathie Lee interview talking about his drug use; wish I could see that again. Eerie!

This is not the ending I remember. Wondering if the OP did his own cut since the song isn't on the DVD.

  • one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite shows of all time...i was 20 when this show started...ill always remember ray sharkey asking vinny"how you remember this, how you gonna remember me.?" as the moody blues played and i love you...love you love...man id love to go back in time for a while...they were good days

  • It took me years trying to remember the name of this show that aired when I was young,,,( in my teens) and I am almost 50 now!! The only thing I could remember was the end,, Knights in white satin playing.. Now tonight I find this and it ends here,,

This has haunted me for years,,it was an excellent show,, and I cannot thank you enough for putting this on here,,, It was fantastic to see this.

  • I was 10 years old when this aired and I'm now 32 and still remember it as clear as day. Everytime I hear Nights In White Satin I remember this scene and I just smile. Thanks for posting.

  • I can't thank you enough for having this to watch with Knights in White Satin in it, I LOVED THIS SHOW!! thank you for posting this!!!!!!!! WARMLY!!!!!!! 10 stars to you!

  • I just saw this episode on DVD...this scene where the camera goes from vinnie to sonny several times is MEANINGLESS with that other music. they should cut that out of the dvd. otherwise it is so great to see every hair on their head on HDTV.

  • This is the only place I can see this episode! I taped the series off of WGN in the 1990's, but never taped this one - can't remember why. Many thanks, logovo!

  • I knew I wasn't insane! I was watching this on HULU and they took this song out of it! I saw this episode ONCE when it originally aired over 20 years ago. I never forgot this scene. The song made it powerful and was pretty key to the depth of the emotion of the situation. I guess licensing must have been an issue. Just goes to show that money CAN stifle creativity.

  • I loved this show it was so great.

If they could put it on DVD with the music I would buy it in a second.

  • Does anyone have the clip of where they first began to fight?

  • I watched every episode with my grandmother this makes me have more fond memories of her.

  • Comment removed

  • You know, of all the TV series DVDs, that I have bought over the years (and I have bought a number of them), the Wiseguy series, on DVD has really let me down for a number of reasons. Removing that song from this scene in the DVD box set has removed the heart and soul, of this scene. Not to mention, the "Music Box" story arc has been completely left out of the Wiseguy DVD box set. Not for nothing, the Wiseguy DVD box set is a major disappointment.

  • It's kinda crazy how far ahead of the curve this show was. This show came out a decade before the Sopranos.

  • I ws too young to see this TV series when it aired, but caught some of the series on HULU. WOW, Ken Wahl has GOT to be THE HOTTEST guy I've ever seen from ALL of Hollywood. Just LOVED whatever HULU offered of this program. AND this series also seems to be really great too. Whatever happened to the sexiest guy ever: Ken Wahl?

  • @tamarajean27 You don't want to know. Things got....weird.

  • @tamarajean27, he rarely does any acting now because of severe injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in 1993. That combined with the addictions to drugs he used to get through the pain precluded any acting offers he may have gotten after the movie based on this show came out.

  • I can't ever hear this song without remembering this moment. Fantastic

  • 187 undercovercop glock glock

  • The toes knows!!!

  • one of my all time fave shows. I'm so pissed off though, I just bought season 1 on DVD and at this point in the show (the best part) they cut out Nights In White Satin and put in some cheezy muzac. Ruined the whole scene for me :-((

  • @musicman5440 that sucks massively

  • @musicman5440 I just picked up season 1 for $ 2.50 at Walmart. Get'em while there HOT !

  • How do feel about Goodfellas?

  • i like Goodfellas, but i think Cosa Nostra life gets glamorized in that movie up until when it goes bad for Henry. in my opinion Donnie Brasco is the most accurate movie on Cosa Nostra life ever made so far, because it doesnt glamorize it. Donnie Brasco shows wiseguy life for what it is, greed, deception, ruthlessness, and murder. Goodfellas shows this also, but it tries to make the mob life look fun, and the mobsters in it likable. Donnie Brasco doesnt do that, but instead does the opposite.

  • how about you, whats your favorite Cosa Nostra movie?

p.s. i did mean what i said about jewish gangsters, in my comments below. ive always found thier stories more interestin than that of the italian mobsters.

  • in my opinion Wiseguy is the best "modern mob related" tv series ever made..... fuck the Sopranos, Wiseguy destroys the Sopranos in originality and suspense....i dont care what anybody says. the deep and complex characters and the brilliant acting talents, that Wiseguy had, makes the Sopranos look like a fckin cosplay..... Wiseguy was tv's take on Joseph D. Pistone's Donnie Brasco, before Falcone.

  • I was moved practically to tears by this w/ the original music. Mature and real writing/acting - what a great and groundbreaking show!

  • 20 years later, this scene still chills me to the core. All the remakes used some fake BS music, the original used this "Nights In White Satin" you hear now. My family and I watched this episode, mesmerised by the mood, the music, the men, the moment...we were scope-locked. We'll never see moments like this on TV again.

  • My absolute favorite show. The Steelgrave arc was the best of the show if you watched it from beginning to end. Thank you for posting this.

  • since 1991 i looked for this show, it was never avalaible anywhere, i watched it here in morocco summer 1989 and 1990 and finaly 1992. i was 15 years old and i followed Saturday evening on national Tv broadcasting,it because it was a bit complicated, especialy after the suicide of Steelgrave and viewers thought that he had a sex relation with his sister.

but with LOCOCO things became more different. i still wait this show to be here in morocco cause i want to see it AGAIN. Karim AICHE

  • Now THIS was good televison !

  • who sang dude love???

  • Wise guy was shoot here in Vancouver aslong with 21 jump street, I met Ken wahl, helluva a nice guy, he was at a bar called bar and gril back in 89, me and my buddies sat and drank with him,

  • I hate that the DVD makers couldn't pay the extra money to get Nights in White Satin. It just makes that whole moment more powerful. In the DVD all they do is just look at each other while music plays that sounds kinda like the theme. Soon i hope to start watching the Mel Profitt arc with my dad.

  • what's the name of the rocknroll song? any one?.

  • Did Ray Sharkey die of AIDS? Ken Wahl is disable from an accident. They were both awesome actors. This is one of the best television episodes in TV history.

  • Sharkey died of herion overdose after he did Zebrahead

  • Was he HIV positive? I was thinking he was one of the first well-known actors to contract from drug use?

  • I'm dissapointed they didn't include the "Dead dog arc" series

  • Yeah, huh? They really did screww this series, on DVD release. From removing the Moody Blues from the Steelgrave arc to not even including the Dead Dog arc at all. I swear, if I didn't love that series as much as I did, I would have never bought the series on DVD. Too bad, no one on YouTube could place the original clips from the series on their channel, huh?

  • This is the scene I remember most from this seriers (it's been about 20 years I think, if not more). The song at the end still gives me gooseflesh. It's amazing.

If I remember correctly the mafia guy is killed after that?

Thank you for posting this video.

  • He gets electrocuted which was hinted at in the start of this clip. Which was spooky since I neer finished the steelgrave arc when it was in syndication in the early 90s (an episode a day!). But they keep flashing back to it periodically over the other arcs and it results in Vinnys eventual breakdown.

  • I have this on DVD. Wiseguy was the BEST tv show ever. The Sonny Steelegrave storyline was the best one of all. Ken Wahl and Ray Sharkey nailed those characters.

  • Great ending of the show. Too bad they changed the song on the dvds.

  • I can't seem to get this video to play! Help Dude!

  • WOW...I NEVER saw this show...I gotta find it on DVD! It is OUTSTANDING!!! And that Vinnie guy...He is SOMKIN' HOT!

  • Yeah.. thanks for the clip with Nights in White Satin.. I saw it a few years ago, in repeats, but they COMPLETELY destroyed the ending for me when they put some other CRAP song in place of the Moody Blues!! It really set the melancholy and somber moment...

  • Best TV show ever! Thanks for posting!

  • Damn this was such a great tv show

  • they don't make them like this anymore. apparently there's a market in hacks who want to sing, dress up in others clothes and date old has beens. jeez, did that writer's strike really end? DAMN!

  • I'm I the only one who found that the characters in this show were far more convincing than the Sopranos?

  • knights in white satin.....i love this song coz of this episode!

  • classic

  • So great to see this with the right music. God, did the DVD release fk it up, or what?

  • I loved this show SO much!!!

  • What a shame the powers that be decided against releasing the remaining shows on DVD... 4 out of 6... so close!

  • Steelgrave/Salvatore, take a Xanax or something. You're so worked up, man, and it's not good for you to keep it bottled up like that.

  • WOW NICE SHOT

  • A melhor serie, e essa a de toda a serie a melhor parte, emocionante, eletrizante, humana, e com ctz, uma das cenas mais bem feitas

    obg

  • I can't hear Nights in White Satin without thinking of Wiseguy. What a great show. And it's the reason I became a Kevin Spacey fan. Mel Proffit -- wow!

  • THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

  • LA MEJOR SERIE!!!!

  • One of THE BEST crime dramas I've ever enjoyed! This was Ken Wahl and Ray Sharkey at their best acting, their peak! It's so sad what happened to these actors afterwards. This was the time that they really shined. Thanks for airing this. Bought back alot of great memories!

  • Ken Wahl (born Anthony Calzaretta). What's he up to lately? Well, in the January 9th, 2008 Tonight Show, Jay Leno said Ken Wahl was his least favorite guest of all, and that Wahl was "a pain in the ass." LOL!

  • @Beatpoet7371 He changed his name from Anthony Calzaretta to Ken Wahl? Calzaretta is way cooler, weird.

  • does anyone knows an address to watch the serie online?

  • i used to love Ken Wahl - was crazy over him... Now can't find any info on him at all...Does anyone know anything about what's happened to him these days??? what's his real name? real birthday? apparently he gave false details to these questions. did he marry both the Barbie twins I heard????

  • He has some chronic issues from a fall and motorcycle accident, and did marry one of the twins.

  • LOVED this show, especially these episodes with KW and Ray Sharkey,Sad that they could not put this song on the DVD set, i really miss it not being there, thank you for having the orgianal posted, brought back wonderful memories, thanks so very, very much!

  • The was the first time I heard Nights in White Satin. This scene was so powerful, I went and got their album the next day.

  • Strangely, I did the exact same thing. It was the first time I had heard the song; I went out the next day to a local record store, and purchased the audio cassette for the Moody Blues' "Days of Future Past," which culminated with the "Nights in White Satin."

  • I always loved this series man

I was 15 ore so when I was watching every episode of it.

The ending was just so fucking emotionel for me. I felth like I became a man at 15 after this scene.

and always loved the song ever since.

Nights in white satin from the Moody Bleus.

  • just after this scene,, sonny runs back down to front of stage and says to Ken Whal,,,I love you man,, and electrocutes himself ,, ending a fantastic Arc .. it was all jumped the shark after Ray Sharkey, with respect to keven spacey.

  • Oh I thought he got electrocuted in an area in the amusement park. Lmao I never saw more than 2 or 3 of the steelgrave arc. I thought he died of overdose but it was aids? I remember when he was on arsenio hall.

  • Anyway you can put up the opening credits of the show???

  • you have 2 of my favorite scenes up. thank you.

  • one of the great scenes in tv history--really screwed it up on the DVD by taking out the song--the lyrics really mirror the tortured relationship of these two--Wahl was really good. Sonny and Vinny made this series work. Thanks for showing the original ending.

  • Sonny Acciaiotomba?

  • I loved this series, especially the Steelgrave-arc. The only thing I didn't understand is why Steelgrave didn't have an Italian name. Any thoughts?

  • Same goes for me too. It's a shame that they did not release the whole series and the movie in a "complete collection" DVD boxset with original audio. The 4th season was bad, but I really miss the Lynchboro/Steve Volchek storyline where Roger Lococco returns.

Anyway, in some of the Steelgrave arc episodes, he was called "Salvatore" by other mobsters. It seems that his family anglicized their name, both first name(s) and the family name.

  • Thanks. I didn't know that. It would be an excellent question for the Wiseguy game of Trivia. Salvatore can indeed be both a first name and a surname. Salvatore means Savior in Italian.

  • Wow! I just bought this DVD set--have not yet seen this particular scene. Ken Wahl narrates this episode, and is a bit amusing when he does. Ray died of AIDS due to his heroin addiction, and apparently Ken Wahl (not his real name), is quite large now, and may or may not be drinking heavily..goes you show you, what goes up always comes down, sadly.

  • please can u tell me what s the name of the latest song and the singer ! it s so emotional ! by the way i really love this actor ray sharkey ! god bless him !!!

  • This episode was some of the best TV ever made in my view. Some episodes from the SOPRANOS compare as well as other classic moments from shows like Star Trek TNG, ROME, SEINFELD, etc. However few come close. I also feel some of the episodes from the end of the Proffit/Lococco arc were great as well. Sonny's complex relationship with Vinnie was a big reason the show did so well.

  • whats the name of the song on the juke box.. and the band who sings it

  • ken wahl feel apart after his coma

  • In the late 80s in a tavern I guess it was a 2 hour thing or whatever. I never saw it in syndication. Anyways it was weird. The wire rims guy was playing nintendo and vinny was addicted to painkillers from a neck injury from football. What episode was that.

  • wow, I haven't seen this since it originally aired, but the final scene has stayed with me all these years..

"how are you going to remember me?"

and then them looking into eachothers eyes as the song goes "and I love you"... so intense, some of the best TV ever.

Do you watch the sopranos? another great mafia show that makes great use of good music.

  • Yeah, The Sopranos made me think of Wiseguy. It was sort of ahead of it's time. It might not have had the mafia character as the main guy, but Steelgrave was sort of a prototype for Tony. The bloody, ruthless mafioso whos still was sympathetic.

  • This is the best show ever, thanks for uploading from beyond the Steelgrave!

  • You're welcome booby

  • These final minutes of the "Steelgrave" arc were some of the best television I've ever seen. I met Kevin Spacey in 1996, at the height of his "Usual Suspects" fame. I called him "Mel Profit", he said, "Now YOU are a real fan." We talked about the Steelgrave arc and how incredible it was. Man do I miss the quality of this show.

  • Heh, that's a great story sluggo.

  • Definitely one of the most high-quality series of all-time. I feel bad that Mr. Wahl didn't go on to other successes.

  • Yeah, I would expect him to continue to a great career.

  • OMFG, WHERE did you FIND this??? The DVDs came with some moronic opera number in place of "Nights"...This was one of THE defining moments of TV! THANK YOU for putting this up!!!!

  • If you can believe it *fans* put this together. Someone out there used the DVDs but remixed the audio. There are some people whoe really cared about this scene being made whole.

  • THAT is SO awesome...Glad to see someone cares. Thanks again!

  • wiseguy one of the best tv shows ever made..classic last scenes esp. the music

  • It was one of those shows I had to see each week. Ahead of it's time for sure.

  • oh wow! thanks so much..been trying find this for ages!!

  • Glad to share! I was upset when I heard they had gotten rid of the song in the DVD release.

  • I agree with Kajicarter, I cant beleive the DVDs butchered the music. Ken Wahl is upset too!

  • It might have been they couldn't get the rights to the song. From what I hear without this particular song the scene makes no sense.

  • Wow. I love that piece. And thanks for posting it! I have the DVDs, but I haven't had the stomach for watching that scene to see what they did to it.

  • Yeah, I heard about that. I know that fans played the episode and put back the right song. That is how I came about this clip.

  • classic classic classic

  • I have very fond memories of this show, specially the finale of this storyline :)
