lol, the logitech z series are great for their price,but the companion 5 has a few distinct advantages

firstly,a simulated surround sound effect,versus a standard stereo 2.1 system makes the Companion 5 much better for video games and watching movies

Also,the cube bass speaker the z2300 has isnt designed to get a smoother,more detailed low end frequency response,unlike the long sub on the c5

the c5's own internal soundcard means it will sound great on any computer, not just 1 with a good card

the logitec is a pure 2.1... it sounds ace, but its a different TYPE OF SYSTEM.u dont get simulated surround sound with it,and it only sounds as good as the sound card on your computer allows it to.what part about that dont you understand?

the bose speaker has multiple speakers inside each actual speaker,facing different directions,and the onboard soundcard devides surround sound channels to give you the surround sound effect.hence the bose being better for games and movies.hows that bullshit?

bose tell their customers to purchase what sounds best to THEM.... the majority of speakers sold on fruequency ranges dont tell you where their dips in frequency are. Ultimately, doesnt it make sense to purchase what suits your ear best? The majority of people purchasing speakers dont have an ear tuned to a well ballanced set of studio monitors, otherwise I'd tell everyone to look at something like a set of AKG studio monitors for thier home hi-fi... doesnt work that way.

And it was actual bass the sound was crystal clear to it produced clean sounding 5.1 from a 2.1 system.

You bought a Yamaha HTiB, so it's no wonder that it sucked.

Your Bose may or may not be better, but if you took that money and merely invested in better speakers for the receiver, you could've had better sound than you will ever get with Bose.

You could've scored a set from serious speaker manufacturers, such as Klipsch, KEF, Infinity, or B&W.

Bose is never worth it because you can get far better for less money.

yup, so true. Focal's are one of the best out there period. They actually sell some titanium tweeters to Wilson audio, but they've kept the best for themselves naturaully.....Beryllium (also faster response time than diamonds)

(its all over the net also) i think some of the drivers in there companion 3 could be found for 20-30 bucks online
