Seeing as this break is about 3 feet over a lava rock reef, these guys probably didn't turn out too hot, especially over the falls. 04-06 i cant remember the year, poor guy took his face to the reef. broken neck and a face torn to shreds couldn't have been a good way to die.

Just like some of my friends have surfed pipe and said sometimes when your screaming down the line it will bottom out and huge reef heads are exposed dry out of no where.I dont see how anyone can not get purely mangled at places like this on a consistent basis. Ive surfed a gnarly right in Samoa that was crazy shallow.It was only chest high but I was thinking there would be no way i would surf this when it was fireing.My feet were touching the sharp reef at the takeoff spot.
