Theo was a great hockey player who unfortunate had a very serious alcohol and drug problem. That is the reason the Flames and the Rangers let him go. He continued the substance abuse during his time in Colorado missing key playoff games and was let go there as well. If he were sober, he would have had an even more incredible career. His speed and talent are matched by few, his ability to get under the skin of his opponents was legendary. His best years were in Calgary.

Hasn't been training for awhile, last time I saw a photo of him in 2007 circa , he was just fat and out of shape.

If Fluery still has it I think he would do really well in todays NHL because there are so many more penalties, players can't hack away at him the way they did. He could park himself in front of the net and no one could move him, pass him the puck and guess what? it's in the back of the net.

I hope he can make it back for this year and go out the way a great player should go out.. but man get real.. he's small, one of the smallest to play in the NHL, he's 41 years old, and he's been out 6 years... and not exactly sharpening his skills in the senior league in Alberta.. a power forward now he is not...
