  • I remember that the peasants were incredibly useful up until the end of the first 2 days in-game.

  • God I love this song... want to put it into Skyrim..but theres no like music folder in the directory...you have to pass security clearance with Steam first...derrrrp...in I had the song play in Oblivion...imagine just exploring and hearing this come up....WHO IS THE WOMAN SINGING THAT?

  • I think I'll find all these MP3s and put them in the music folder of my Heroes 3 game. HOMM2 won't run on my PC, so I'm forced to play 3. But I can still slip the music in for the appropriate towns.

  • I really loved this song ... sadly the songs in the Exclusive Might and Magic Heroes Collection are not the same ... They are so bad ! I'm sooooo depressed :'(

  • ahaha, cool!

  • Who the hell is that woman singing .. dammm.. i remember this game wow..pre skyrim days....when video games actually had thought... lmao

  • This piece is inspired by J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variation in G Major (BWV 988) - Variatio 1. Check it out! :)

  • I love heroes 3 don't get me wrong, but the music can't compare to this. It just blows you away. The sound effect for creatures were top notch. (Titans walking, Dragon's flapping, boars screaming and ofc music!)

  • I love her voice... ty... very powerful

  • This game has such an amazing feet to it! Not even HOMM 3 manged to be THIS charming. That said HOMM3 is a better game. HOMM<3

  • I remember playing this game when I was about 7 years old... It was back in the good times on my dad's windows 95 computer... The graphics weren't good and the computer was slow but to be honest, playing video games back then was so much more enjoyable than today... I have no idea why but your expectations to a game weren't high at all.Today it's like. If the graphics suck the games sucks....

I miss the old video games from the 90's .....

  • Wow the music track to this town is really good. I played Heroes 3 for so many years I don't remember what it sounds like on the old ones.

  • i am 14 years old i fucking love this game!!!!!!!!!!

  • This theme is the best one in the whole game, but this soundtrack is absolutely awesome and beautiful. But this track is perfect - the opera singer is so great. The melodie is fab and this combination hits it perfectly. The goood old times :)

  • I remember we had the version with MIDI music, and our computer had some glitches in the playback, which sometimes caused one of the background instruments to play a full half step flat. It was really freaky.

  • @curtmack

Midi is decent, best is Opera mode.

  • @curtmack

It's not the computer. It happened to me too on Windows XP, when moving between areas.

  • really underrated city! still, one of the weakest of course, but it was really strong in certain situations, like on S/M maps.

  • @TheMrCozmo I do not think they were underrated. Knight was only good if you planned to win by week 4. After that you couldn't touch other towns (given similar player skill levels).

They were the rushers of HOMM2, did a great job at that, but most games I played were on L+ maps, and Knight had no business being on those maps, except to get steamrolled.

It was a nice challenge to play him in SP on large maps though, for when a cheating AI wasn't enough to make you sweat. ;)

  • @tfoksieloy

    @tfoksieloy

Knight sucks dude, be it on small, medium, or large map.

    There are always better choices.

Even on small map, the OverPowered Warlock faction steamrolls them.

You can see my heroes 2 analysis on heroes community

  • @Xecutionner2K They don't suck, each has their own advantages, for example the Warlock has stronger units but they are more expensive and their growth is slower when a knight has cheaper units and growth a lot faster.

  • this music very similar bach 988 first variation

  • @AbadGorilla I'd go as far as saying it's basically a plagiarism of the first four bars of that very variation, only transposed into minor key (?). You can even hear the lower voice from the variation chiming in later on in the vid at 0:17

  • I heard this music, that is the opera part, a few months back - can't remember the context, just remember saying hey, wasn't this the homm music?

Now I'm extremely curious where this song actually comes from...

  • does.....does....does she really sing "sit on the toilet at 42sec?

  • Finally found this song.. Admittedly its great for its time

  • Aw man... I remember this city. So much nostalgia.

I don't remember the music though, we didn't have speakers back then.

  • Marvelous music, awesome feelin' of nostalgia. I love it ;)

  • This town had the catchiest theme.

  • knight town was the weakest of all towns .. it was almost imposible to win any battle, maybe it was just patch I used, but it was really useless

  • @meh23p This is the original official CD soundtrack. I believe the midi music was shuffled around accidentally. Also, the expansion Price of Loyalty had completely different music and the gold editions had varying degrees of music as well. (Different releases of gold edition seemed to have different music)

  • ...These aren't at all the soundtrack I remember. D: Does it differ by how much you've built?

  • By far the best in-game music ever made. Ever.

  • 0:40 <--- the point where you finally get Crusaders. Up until that point the entire song gives a feel of "omg, the peasents suck they have no health!"

  • @Ecalyptus90 Hey now.. I've beaten a few maps with nothing but peasents. Build a large enough army of them and they can be unstoppable! :D

  • @Oasys18 1 Ghost.

  • Must... resist... clicking cathedral

HoMM2 Crusaders are my all time favorite units. It was back in the day when we didn't have any stinkin' Angels or Devils. Heavy, noisy armor for every hex moved. Huge sword. Double strike. Enough stats to take a dragon down.

The second game I will always associate with just that:

    Hero casts Dragon Slayer

    *Clang-clang* *Clang-Clang* *Clang-Clang* CHOP!

    Dragon retaliates

    CHOP!

    You've won the battle!

    All in the same turn!

  • @Skirlasvoud Ah ah, so true ! Those were my favourite unit, missed them a lot in HoMM3.

  • @Skirlasvoud Cyclops own them in every way

  • Comment removed

  • @Skirlasvoud You forgot their specials: immunity to curse and double damage against undead.

  • @Skirlasvoud

    that's just awesome. :D

  • SO GOOD. SO DAMN GOOD.

  • Ok this is it.

    *Installing HOMM2*

  • Need help. I downloaded homm2, and the music instead of OST is some metal bands. I want is the way i remember it as a child. How can I get the right music and install it?

  • wizard's theme dude!

  • @pieroog nope.

  • This was the first theme that I heard when I played HoMM2, and I instantly fell in love with the soundtrack.

  • I like how the crappy midi-sounding tune suddenly improves at 0:40 :d, best HOMAM game though.

  • Perfect!

Is this some piece of classic music?

  • im absolutely sure that this is the wizard's theme

  • Some say that reincarnation is the only path to hell; I disagree.

  • peasants were the shittiest things to have in your army

  • @MrKumatae especially against necromancy

  • @MrKumatae indeed especially when attacking an ship wreck going up against a bunch of ghost. Quickly made a easy win in to an impossible one as the ghosts grew into hundreds after one attack on your peasants...

  • @MrKumatae No shit... But they were good for spell fodder. And probing the enemies weaknesses. I personally would use them as a damage sponge.

  • @outlawstar15a2 lol i liked that their death pose made them looked like the got kicked in the nuts xDD

  • Knights were really badasses on Evil Campagne :-o

  • I still lay awake at night thinking of the thousands of peasants I sent to their doom without a hope for victory.

  • Comment removed

  • After so many years I can name which units come from which buildings!

  • this game is gay

and by that i dont mean it sucks, i mean i does other games of the same genre (gernder) up the rectum

  • @namekman01 nice fail you deserve a fuckin point

  • Best song ever, same epic with the Haven theme in HOMM V!

  • You know, HoMM as a series has so many excellent themes that I imagined it to be hard to pick just one that could be considered "best".

That was before I heard this track again. There's no nostalgia at play here, it just shames every effort made by game composers today.

  • at first the music sounded really corny and silly

    you know "Marion" style

    but suddenly that beautifull singing

  • I don't remember sining when I played this in HMM2... just the starting and ending bits. Still that lady has an amazing voice.

  • The chick singing reminds of Tarja from Nightwish.

  • Probably the best music in the whole series!

  • Every memory from homm2 goes thorugh my brain when i listen to this, this is so so epiiiiiiic

  • My favorite game, has my favorite music as well.

  • old and EPIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • theme from goldberg variations (J.S.Bach), thought it was wizard and harpsichord o.O

  • what a beautiful voice.

  • This remastering is better than the songs of Heroes III, and it's gospel, btw, despite that the game is about magic.

  • this is the BEST heroes of might and magic ♥

  • 3 > 2 > other heroes games probably including even 6

  • mass moving, strong in even strength and defense :P best town

  • @merlion2008

Even though I loved playing this town it was probably the weakest town in the whole game. Slow archers that take too much dmg before they can shot, no flying units, low HP - it pains to loose at least 2 crusaders every damn lighting bolt. It was fun though when you were able to get to the spell nullifying artifact.

    And this music is awesome.

  • @Wychuchol777 Pshh. The peasants more than made up for it.

That one map where you had to fight throngs (or was it zounds?) was peasants was awesome too!

  • thumbs up my friends! to remember what real music should be!

  • That was my second Heroes. First was Heroes III Demo :)

  • fortunately Homam5's music will never have the same impact upon me than Homam2.

I dont mind if you like 5 much better, but to have played the glory of 2 and say that 5;s better . talk shit.

  • Good old times , when i spent hours playing this fucking weak knights :D

  • @ImbaArrow Weak? haha they are decent untill you face ghosts with 300-1000 ( throng ) of peons in tow. then .... then shit gets out of control

  • By an do have the theme with out the opera?

  • I love this masterpiece! HoMM 2 was one of the best fantasy strategic games with RPG elements I have ever played. And the opera singers are soo great, especially in THIS theme. It´s a dream!

  • The champions and paladins looked so cool:X:Xthis was my favorite castle

  • It's obvious that it is part of 115th psalm.

  • Greywind..... That castle name will hunt be forever

  • Crusaders and Champions were so damn strong, when I had to face a Knight Town army my first thought was Ohmygod, now I'm in trouble ;p Had to sacrifice a bunch of Phoenixes on them :p (I always played Sorceress as my starting town)

  • Bloody awesome!

While waiting for HOMM VI to come out, i thought to myself 'hey, let's listen to some HOMM 2 music' and damn, they don't make music like that for games anymore.

  • *dies from nostalgia*

  • @YamiHoOu And yeah, a feeling of nostalgia so intense that i can almost taste the era in which i first played it.

  • @YamiHoOu *plays this theme for your funeral... then dies from nosatalgia*

  • @KMcombine A pattern could start here... XD

  • just wondering if the HOMM 3 has these music would be more than perfect ...

  • this track isn´t as good as others...but.. .I LOVE PALADINS !!!

  • Who can tell me the names of the original opera titles for all the town themes? Like who composed them and what's the name of the track? I think the sorceress theme is from "Richard Wagner - Das Liebesverbot". Thanx a lot!!

  • Now, music is so much full of shet.

  • damn!!!...My version has the "muddled" town tracks, so everytime I hear this I think its wizard/babarian...and I look at a knight's castle and it makes me feel CONFUSED.

Also, my version doesn't have the epic Sorceress music in any shape/form :(

  • the creature mix up in 2 was awesome. how champions became higher level creatures than paladins in homm 4, it's something that annoys me a little.

  • perhaps they got inspired by Bach when creating this "watch?v=XLIKg_ft-zE"

  • @Epidosite they do sound similar!! hahaha bach is gonna sue someone's ass.

  • wow, this music really does bring back memories.good ones to :)

  • Not feeling it. HoMMV's Haven theme was much better. More dramatic, builds up faster, feels more knighly and heroic.

  • @LGunhazard

You're criticizing the fact that technology and budgets weren't as good in 1996. But I'd say the product was top notch for its time, technology, and ability.

  • @Jaydoggy531 No, I'm criticizing that the melody is boring and cartoonish compared to the one from V. Quality had nothing to do with it,

  • @LGunhazard Lol at comparing anything from the trash that is HoMMV to the gorgeous beauty that is HoMMII

  • @Zeetarfish Yeah, hillarious that HOMMII's music is so bad that HOMMV can be considered so much better, right? I got a kick out of that revelation too.

  • @LGunhazard No, how hilariously terrible how bad your music taste sucks.

  • @Zeetarfish Oh, you mean the music taste that listens to pretty much everything? I guess that must mean all music in the world sucks? Or perhaps it just means that you're an ignorant fanboy throwing whatever you can think of at someone because they don't like a track from your precious relic of a video game?

Huh. Sure doesn't seem like music taste enters into it.

  • this is a great music for a new ringtone!

  • @iFlip29 Maybe if you're listening to the midi version. But this is officially the knight music.

Just try looking at the tracks of the game if you rip them with a program that pulls the info from the internet. (CDEX, iTunes, etc)

  • @Shyranis Though, I have a strong memory from when I played this that this was the Wizard's theme, not the Warlock's.

  • @AMVProductionsINC Lots of people say that, but if you look at the official soundtracks, this is the Knight theme.

They MIDI version got swapped around and to my understanding, some regions might have had a version with the CD-audio swapped around, but this is the official, confirmed Knight theme.

Just try ripping an original release version CD in iTunes, cDex, or any other one capable of connecting to a database that recognizes the songs on the disc.

  • @Shyranis Oh, now I see. This was the Wizard's and Barbarian's Town Theme from the DEMO! Just checked it up. Lol, my bad. XD

  • @AMVProductionsINC Yeah, I have a strong memory too. Glad to meet someone else like me. I can read a book, glance at each page, and then remember every page word for word years later.

  • @iFlip29 For me this is the Wizard AND the Barbarian, but my music is fucked up for some reason :(

  • @iFlip29 Hm. Yes. I heard midi version. This music was in wizard and barbarian castles.

  • omg how. many. times. i have heard this awesome song.

  • One of the best music with the sorceress ! ^^

  • oh yess, oh yeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • Such memories, finest games from 3DO,wow i'm turning 20 in a few months and i can't forget this game and HMM III,too bad Ubisoft ruined Heroes v:(

    Thank you for the uploads.

  • The unaccompanied portion of the theme reminds me of the 1st Goldberg variation.

  • Wow really great!

    Good old memories...

  • i still cant believe that this great soundtrack is "just" from a 90's game... btw i think, that this was the best soundtrack besides the sorc castle and the snow theme.

  • love it!

  • where can i find this song ?

  • @iRamUrMother If you're still interested, google the site "Galbadia Hotel". It has complete mp3 soundtracks from TONS of games including this one.

  • @randomwords7007 Thanks

  • Youre my hero, Shyranis, i really wanted to hear this.

This particular game in the series made a hold on my heart, even to the point of founding myself daydreaming at class about being in the forests of might and magic.

  • I used to park myself in this town, just to listen to this music. Love it. Thanks for posting it. :)

  • I remember this music from my playing HoMaM a couple of years ago :o)

  • this brought a smile to my face, thank you

  • tobad i never got the chance to play homam 2 :( but i loved the first one :P

  • A wonderful fugue! Romero is one of the best composers that I know!

  • BEST.

    FUCKING.

    MUSIC.

    EVER.

  • indeedio

  • @twakcz skoro jo !

  • @twakcz THANKS MAN!

    paul anthony romero

  • Strange. If the lang is German, I can't hear there any ü and ö.

  • maybe becuase they didnt use u omlaut and o umlout

  • Actually I don't think its German due to the often used ch-sound (a little bit softer than in outch). That's not really common in German. However it is in romanian languages like Italian or some eastern Europe languages.

  • @t4nimal does it matter the music is awsome :D

  • @t4nimal It's German for sure :) It's from the bible - Psalm 115:5-7

    Sie haben Mäuler, und reden nicht; sie haben Augen, und sehen nicht;

    sie haben Ohren, und hören nicht; sie heben Nasen, und riechen nicht;

sie haben Hände, und greifen nicht; Füße haben sie, und gehen nicht; sie reden nicht durch ihren Hals.

  • @Kastratore Indeed... if you know it you hear it...

  • @Kastratore wow respekt das du das weißt

    wow respect for knowing that

  • @Kastratore Ok, what does that translate to?

  • @outlawstar15a2: As in New International Version:

(5)They have mouths, but cannot speak,

    eyes, but they cannot see;

(6)they have ears, but cannot hear,

    noses, but they cannot smell;

(7)they have hands, but cannot feel,

    feet, but they cannot walk;

nor can they utter a sound with their throats.

  • @t4nimal: It IS German.. the ch-sound is used that often, because the word "nicht" is repeated 7 times :D

  • @t4nimal "romanian languages like Italian or some eastern Europe languages"?

    Say what?

I'm pretty sure you haven't really got a clue of what you're talking about, really.
