  • @immature0916 The expression is "I couldn't care less": what you say implies the opposite of what you mean, which - much to your credit - cancels itself out. Speak to whichever experts you like, and even examine the fellow, if you must (from your rantings, I would not put it past you), but kindly keep your findings to yourself. I can't vouch for your other victims here, but I would think that we don't really want to change your mind, as much as switch you off. Many heartfelt thanks!

  • @immature0916 Come to think of it, the technique that you so staunchly defend is all about raising the upper register, and I admit that we should bow to your sovereign opinion, as you are obviously somewhat of an expert at 'raising the voice,' even more so when it comes to identifying qualities of voices, such as, well, maturity? I only question how someone with such boorish writing habits and lack of decorum could vaguely

be drawn to the finer things, like those have futilely discussed, here.

  • @immature0916 Studies? You don't say! Forgive us all; now I understand the authority and right you have to lash out at your fellow observers. Again, I and the others should have noticed this great expertise, and seen the culmination of so much study in your replies. You are right: we were out of line (and if anyone should know about that, I am sure you would)!

  • @immature0916 Look, Sally: why make it personal? Is it really worth your while to project so (though I am sure that is all you learned about vocal production;-)??? I have no objection to the wondrous breadth of understanding with which you clearly approach your discussions and register comments, but MUST you heighten the hilarity of your insane diatribes by dragging in so many good -if imagined- experts? Do they really speak to you, or must you wear the wig as disguise to get in to see them? Hmm

  • @immature0916 Politically correct? Oh, you flatter me! (I thought it was sarcasm...;-). God bless you, too.

  • he is a natural castrati... hipotálamos alterations.... back to tha past.... i like it

  • Awesome natural voice...Amazing Radu (Sopranista)..God Bless you

  • This is incredible in a Guiness Book of Records way but could a woman make a living singing like this?

  • @JussiPaul yes, by singing in the lower ranges generally considered unatural (tenor/baritone) to the female voice: it has been done before, early in the 20 century, in fact.....

  • Radu has a pleasing voice and uses it with refinement. Thank you for this video.

  • I've heard it before....Mickey Mouse?

  • bravo complimenti

  • And I thought Bieber's voice was high.

  • Timbre is similar to that of the legendary Florence Foster Jenkins.

  • BRAVI!!!!!

  • I love this rare, rare handful of men who can sing like this way. There are still people, musicians, who refuse toi believe male sopranos exist.....groan.... keep posting please!

  • @pianomags I can do it too, though my regular voice is tenor too. lol.

  • @Pawelp i can tooo im a sopranist.... :)

  • Just uploaded a new version of "Lascia ch'io pianga" on aliusmodum channel performed by Radu Marian with ensemble aliusmodum

Please search for "aliusmodum" on youtube search tool

    happy listening!

  • 2:13 i think that's a wrong note, anyway he's a very pure voice.

  • Toata cinstea.Felicitari si succes pe viitor.

  • I dislike it very much and I know Radu Marian can do better than that.! What bothered me the most was that he made it sound like a very happy song, when it is a sad song. I'm disappointed, but I still think Radu Marian is very good!

  • In my opinion, there is much emotion and warmth in this performance, but absolutely I can NOT hear the emotion of happiness. Maybe it is a matter of culturel differences?

Besides, there is another user that sees this performance as too emotional and not intellectual enough. Another one - of our cultural environment - critizises the LACK of emotion, so- what is right then??? It seems to be a matter of consideration.

    With all respect:

  • I see what you mean. If it is good in your mind, then I am not going to criticize your ears for listening wrong! For everyone has their own opinion. That is an interesting reason why we see it differently!

  • @soprana53 Well, it's one of the saddest songs ever, in my opinion.

  • @soprana53 this is a sad song

  • @TheBigMack321 yeah I must agree. Lascia Ch'io is more emotional rather than happy. and It got on my nerves alot when he didn't stressed "Pieta" in the performance.and this song is much slow and nooooot quick

  • Bravo!

  • From the standpoint of sound production, the quality of the voice, this is easily the best professional soprano voice in the world.

Sadly, the only female singers who approach this quality are the ones without formal training.

  • What I didn't see here is the 'musicianship'. A performer needs to be precise in what he needs to do such as words, structure of the piece and vocal techinque. The musicianship can be achieved by approaching the work intellectually, NOT emotionally. With respect and all the very best.

  • For the record, he is not a sopranist. He is a soprano.

  • @primohomme hes a sopranist... coz hes a male... and a male.. cant be a soprano :)

  • @hotvampangel

Not true, soprano just means "above", the upper vocal line, it does not designate a sex. Castrati were called soprano or alto, not male soprano or male alto. And since Radu is not singing with falsetto, he is a true SOPRANO.

  • @primohomme wel dear.... this is what.. it means and its italian.... and ma italian lirica teachers explained that... u better ask well :) anyway no problem... whatever he is i am too :) and i love his voice and love havving mine like that too thnkx see ya

  • @primohomme Sopranist it's Male soprano. And because Radu Marian is a male - he is Sopranist! :-)

  • @radumariandotnet

No, sopranist refers specifically to a high counter-tenor singing in his falsetto, if the voice is produced in modal sound then it's not sopranist but soprano or (male) soprano.

  • @primohomme You know, the Castrati had a very big diapason, but even the castrati are divided into: Sopranists, Altists ( the womans may be only Contralto, and if you tell Alt, all people will be sure - it's a male.) Natural male voice may be Sopranist, Mezzo-Sopranist or Alt (Altist). Ist indicates what it's male. If we want tell: most high female voice, we tell Soprano, and Sopranist too, it's term!

  • @radumariandotnet

Usually castrati were not called sopranist though, they were called soprano or alto (or musico) I have several books on the castrati and their training.

  • @primohomme I thought sopranist was the correct name for a male soprano?

    (From Italian Sopranista)

  • @primohomme he could never be a soprano because he's a male... soprano is as female term hence the term "sopranist" Which is the male term And In My Opinion This Sounds Horrible He Sounds Like A chipmunk!!!

  • @immature0916

Oh the ignorance, your screen name fits you.

Soprano is not a female term, it simply refers to the highest vocal line

Let me remind in the time of the castrati the ones with the high voices were not called male soprani or sopranista or even castrato soprano, they were simply called SOPRANO.

  • @primohomme Wow!!! So Rude And For no Reason At All Please Do Your Research And Look Up The Meaning Of The Word Soprano Before You Come At Me Being Rude Thanks!!!

  • @immature0916

I did my research and that's why I am certain of what I am saying. In modern time the word soprano refers to a high female voice, but 500 years ago when women were not allowed to sing in church choir and eunuchs and falsettists were used instead the word simply meant the hight vocal line. sopra=super=above.

Now take a seat and don't speak unless you know with certainty that you are speaking correct information.

  • @primohomme i will speak my opinion whenever i feel he's not a soprano and could never be recognized as such..he's a sopranist and a bad sounding one at that! your rude comments shows you to be the immature one here who cant have a decent debate without being rude...You commenting and being rude will not change my opinion and many others here who feel the same way..your rudeness only shows your immaturity... and lack of knowledge and im done with you conversation is offically====>DEAD

  • @immature0916

For you to say he can't be a soprano because he is male is not an opinion but a statement of (proud) ignorance because you didn't know the original meaning of the word soprano and that the castrati were called soprani and not sopranists. Also, the castrati's voices sounded nothing like a woman's voice but like a boy's or like a high light tenor singing, which I would argue this gets close to.

  • @primohomme As This Rude Ignorant person continues to rant on and tell me what my opinion is. as i said and i will say it again thats "MY OPINION" and nothing you say will change it so rant on lolol!!! i will state my opinion once more...he could never be a soprano because he's a male... soprano is as female term hence the term "sopranist" Which is the male term And This Sounds Horrible He Sounds Like A chipmunk!!! you dont like my opinion keep it moving...conversation ===>DEAD

  • @immature0916

Based on historical research and etymology, you opinion is 100% wrong. In fact, the term sopranist didn't even appear till the mid 20th century. If you are happy vomiting your ignorance that's fine, but that doesn't change 500 years of history. So gurl #BYE.

  • @primohomme haha!!! you just said it wasnt my opinion it was a statement now your changing you comment...and no you didnt just spew stupidity out your mouth once again its my opinion wont change no matter what you say he's a SOPRANIST not a soprano..i can tell you like to get the last word because your rude and immature and let me not forget ignorant..so here this will be my last comment so you can respond to this okay and get the last word im done conversation #over...

  • @immature0916

You are the ignorant one not even knowing the true meaning of a word and acting like you do, bitch take a fucking seat already, you showed your ass and got dragged by your cheap Sally's beauty supplies wig and anyone with knowledge of music history could see, so take a seat and shut the fuck up and do some research before you keep talking incoherent shit and looking like a goddamn charlatan.

  • @primohomme "Bravo, bravo, arcibravo"!

  • @immature0916 Regardless, she's right, you're wrong, opinion notwithstanding: sorry to disappoint. He is indeed a soprano if his physiological range is that of soprano and his vocal chords are otherwise incapable of producing sounds that are otherwise natural to the male voice registers.

  • @immature0916 And if what I understand of this particular singer is true (i.e .that he does not posses a natural male voice, but rather a female one which is odd, rare, but not unheard of), then he is capable of far greater extension of in the higher reaches of his tessitura - like a soprano - and unlike an 'ist' who may only go so far.

Now the topic may be considered closed (but that is just my opinion; do carry on if you wish).

  • @immature0916 A 'sopranist ' (or any other such male 'ist'-type singer) is generally a guy who possesses the usual male range, but via technical manipulation of the vocal chords 'cheats' the register barriers or boundaries, thereby producing a wider range.

  • @primohomme You are right, and anyone with common sense and knowledge of voice and music will cheerfully back you on this, as I do.

  • @primohomme whats the difference? He has an amazing voice either way!!

  • I think that Marian is just extraordinary.

  • ahahahaha

  • @petrina1022 and why?? :)

    Ciao

  • Astonishing technique, but once more: I miss the emotions! He' s singing about his cruel fate...but I don' t think he looks like that!

  • Comment removed

  • Lovely, thank you! Much more impressive than his other version available. Better ornamentation and vibrato I noticed too.

  • I am sorry that the cameraman missed the beginning of this rare and remarkable recording; however, I am glad that we do have this.

  • Thank you so much for this video of Radu Marian's singing.
