It took 7K to make my 99' turbo civic faster than my GTO. And to the lower comments, its true no matter what that shit goes wrong with hondas. But thats for ALL cars. I had no issues with my civic untill it got turboed. As for my 06' GTO i got it for 24K and ive had to for a year and three months. Already the radiator is cracked, i had to take it in for a new battery twice and the interior is built cheap.
had an 03 s2k, and just sold it for an 04 z06. I know I would have had to do ALOT to the S to make it what the Z is. Great bang for the buck. the z06 is a Factory Race Car, and it doesn't take much to make it a lot faster.
you can get a nice 2001 z06 for just over 20 grand, to make a civic faster than a z06 would prolly cost u just over 20 grand so u pick what u want a nice looking z06 or a fast civic?

Sorry, but I'd have to disagree. You could have a low 10 second CRX for at or under 10k. Car=1k. Built B18b lower end, built b16 top end= 5k. DIY turbo kit=3k. 1k left over for doing all the smaller stuff. Easily 400whp at around 2000 pounds. Water/meth can easily get it to 500whp. That's deffinatly good enough for low 10s in a 2000 pound car. I would agree with you that I would take a Z06 over it though.
You can clearly see the Z06 badge on the 3rd run...But anyone can buy badges and install rear ducts... either way that civic runs like a bat out of hell...

for the same amount of money usually a bigger more popular to tune american car will be faster then a 4 banger import. absolutly correct.. ill be the first to say american mustle will always be faster and make more power.. bigger engines of course. im just talking effeciancy. thats all. more hp per litre due to higher reving better engine design. you have to admit it is impressive that people have gottin over 1000 hp out of a 2 litre 4 banger

It took 7K to make my 99' turbo civic faster than my GTO. And to the lower comments, its true no matter what that shit goes wrong with hondas. But thats for ALL cars. I had no issues with my civic untill it got turboed. As for my 06' GTO i got it for 24K and ive had to for a year and three months. Already the radiator is cracked, i had to take it in for a new battery twice and the interior is built cheap.

had an 03 s2k, and just sold it for an 04 z06. I know I would have had to do ALOT to the S to make it what the Z is. Great bang for the buck. the z06 is a Factory Race Car, and it doesn't take much to make it a lot faster.

I will admit that this particular honda is pretty quick. BUT ITS STILL A HONDA!!! I HAVE NO RESPECT for hondas at all!!! There are some fast one every now and then but they ALL have problems over and over again! The boosted modified S2K couldnt even hang with a stock Z06! Hondas just have that "ricer" stereotype!!!

It's very simple, really. The civic efficiently burned more gas per pound of weight than the Corvette did. The S2000 efficiently burned slightly less gas per pound of weight than the Corvette did. The name of the game is who can burn more fuel per pound and transfer that power to the ground. Civic wins.

first off just because the civic has smaller displacement doesnt mean it gets better mpg..2nd its a c5 z06 brand new there around 50k and they stopped in 04 the brand new c6 z06's arent even 80k so maybe you should do some research... today you can a nice c5 z06 with low miles for about 30k...

hahaha a spanking new Z06 is 72,945 from the chevy web site, thats standard MSRP, I work add all the BS, "clear coat protection package(1000$) floor mats (400$) ect ect plus TTL its just about 90k if you pay cash, a shit load more if u finance it for a number of years. however if u just wanna b quick get a 500$ CRX drop 10k in it, gut the bitch and you got a low 10 sec car on 93 octane and radials.

Respect goes to the 4 cyl keeping up with a z06. But 10k in a $500 CRX? You would be hard pressed to be in the 'low 10s' with that cash and even then a $500 CRX has more than a few problems to fix to do it safely. I love hondas (last 6 and current 2 are), but cant say I would own CRX over a z06...to me that's insane. To each his own though.

Sorry, but I'd have to disagree. You could have a low 10 second CRX for at or under 10k. Car=1k. Built B18b lower end, built b16 top end= 5k. DIY turbo kit=3k. 1k left over for doing all the smaller stuff. Easily 400whp at around 2000 pounds. Water/meth can easily get it to 500whp. That's deffinatly good enough for low 10s in a 2000 pound car. I would agree with you that I would take a Z06 over it though.

the only reason i would doubt that its not a z06 is i dont see the emblem on the side of the car by the brake duct area that at least shows its a z06... or at least the emblem if anyones gay enough to buy it seperate.
plus i dont see any numbers for HP on the s2k...
