  • im not discrediting that the vette is a superior car in all arenas over the civic, b/c it truely is, but common, thats expected, a new Z06 cost almost 30x (72k before ttl) than your average 93-95(2500cash money) civic. However this was far from a full mod civic, full mod street civic can make upwards of 650whp and will rape most vettes on the street. and with 5L more displacement i would hope a vette motor could make 2khp b/c they can make upwards of 1400(totaly maxed) in a 2L honda.

  • @TheMugenboy Well you need power to make a good power to weight ratio, so yes everything is about power :) Especially when you are talking drag racing or highway pulls. 880whp is nice but the car Gary Gardella built which has 1400+hp 4 cylinder cobalt is lighter than the s2k and runs almost 6 seconds on the quarter mile, so yeah it is all about power in the end of the day bro :)

  • @kingssuck06 im pretty sure that they can if u build a completely top to bottom racing motor just like the top fuel does bc those are the same blocks from any factory car, so thats a pretty crappy compare. we re comparing a factory honda f20c or f22c motor to the LS motor. yes you will get more HP out of the LS BUT wat a few of us r sayin that both motors are awesome. the highest HP out of a S2000 motor is 850whp ish, which is pretty damn good for a 2.2L

  • It took 7K to make my 99' turbo civic faster than my GTO. And to the lower comments, its true no matter what that shit goes wrong with hondas. But thats for ALL cars. I had no issues with my civic untill it got turboed. As for my 06' GTO i got it for 24K and ive had to for a year and three months. Already the radiator is cracked, i had to take it in for a new battery twice and the interior is built cheap.

  • had an 03 s2k, and just sold it for an 04 z06. I know I would have had to do ALOT to the S to make it what the Z is. Great bang for the buck. the z06 is a Factory Race Car, and it doesn't take much to make it a lot faster.

  • It's very simple, really. The civic efficiently burned more gas per pound of weight than the Corvette did. The S2000 efficiently burned slightly less gas per pound of weight than the Corvette did. The name of the game is who can burn more fuel per pound and transfer that power to the ground. Civic wins.

  • first off just because the civic has smaller displacement doesnt mean it gets better mpg..2nd its a c5 z06 brand new there around 50k and they stopped in 04 the brand new c6 z06's arent even 80k so maybe you should do some research... today you can a nice c5 z06 with low miles for about 30k...

You would be hard pressed to be in the 'low 10s' with that cash and even then a $500 CRX has more than a few problems to fix to do it safely. I love hondas (last 6 and current 2 are), but cant say I would own CRX over a z06...to me that's insane. To each his own though.

  • Sorry, but I'd have to disagree. You could have a low 10 second CRX for at or under 10k. Car=1k. Built B18b lower end, built b16 top end= 5k. DIY turbo kit=3k. 1k left over for doing all the smaller stuff. Easily 400whp at around 2000 pounds. Water/meth can easily get it to 500whp. That's deffinatly good enough for low 10s in a 2000 pound car. I would agree with you that I would take a Z06 over it though.
