I hate how people think that any song that got made poppier has a better demo. Youre not any cooler just because you hate pop music. The lyrics have the same meaning in both versions, and Ryan himself said that the lyrics are the base of all the songs. I actually love the album version , and I dont think that making it poppier made it worse, I love how panic! at the disco is confident enough to be able to try out a different style.

i love both versions so so so so so so much but in this one when he goes ''she never fixes this but at least she makes me forget'' i think that one particular line is so amazing and full of emotion and just overall beautiful that it makes me want to listen to this song over and over just to hear that one line

@folka18 I always kind of wonder if this song got poppier and peppier because Ryan wasn't comfortable with putting himself out there that much. Like, the lyrics are pretty painful (not in a bad way), but this version's music is, too, and I wonder if that made him feel uncomfortable and vulnerable? Idk, I think about these things too much. @iamseafoamgreen i dont think it changed cos of Ryan not being comfortable i just think that when they were looking over their amazing work they as a group decided that this one particular song could be made better or maybe simply easier for them to play in concert or something but i dont think it was cos of Ryan not being comfortable i think that since he was comfortable enough to write it and present it to the group then he was surely comfortable enough go all for it

The verses are not as well-flowing. If you write like Ryan does, it's hard to make the song sound good to, and I think the album version achieved that better. Also I find that this song sounds- I don't want to say 'whiney'- maybe a bit less thought out, and I think the album version has the 'anger' element in it, turning the emotion into a great song, which really is the idea of songwriting.

I love both versions. I love the drums in the newer one, and i also love the guitar in the pre-chorus. the auto-tune was eh. i love the way he sings the chorus in the demo..and the extra lines in the demo. plus the synth is amazing. all in all, both versions are good.

I just listened to their new album... Yeah... There are some good songs. It's just not Panic at the disco anymore. It's Brendan and Spencer and they're doing a lovely job. "Nails for Breakfast" was always one of the VERY few tracks on Fever that I just couldn't really... love, you know? Absolutely never disliked it, but never loved it like "Build God", "Time to Dance"," There's a good reason" and so on. But this version is really changing my mind, absolutely love it! Maybe a BIT too pop for my taste, but still freakin' AWESOME, absolutely love the verse!
