aww cancer gets such a bad rap, I mean come on, think of all the good things cancer has done, like kill (just not quick enough) people who are in charge of this country that ruin it, or making us aware of how our cells work, or makes us aware how certain things we do to our body is horrible for not only ourselves but the people around us as well. I am sorry for those of you who have posted on here who have lost family members to cancer. Its a horrible disease that I, alongside many of you, witnessed first hand. There are reasons that our cancer rates are much higher than other countries in the world, and its definitely not just a natural order of things. After researching, I trust that Stand Up To Cancer will do the right thing, and place focus on environmental and consumer causes. If we find what's causing it, we can stop it.
In looking for the cause of cancer, you have to think about what the US has more of than every other country in the world. Is it our cars, our cell phones, our fast food franchises...? It's hard to tell, because other countries DO have all of these things. What didn't we have before, that has caused the outbreak now? I'm sure, however, that someone smarter than myself will come up with something that is undoubtedly a logical and even possible reason for the outbreak of cancer.
Definitely read "Cancer Gate" by Dr. Samuel Epstein. We can assume a lot has to do with environmental standards, the production of man-made toxins/waste in the past century, etc. For example, the chemical Atrazine, which was found to have a huge concentration in the area where my father and neighbors passed away, has been proven to cause cancer/genetic problems. Its banned in every country except the US. It can be assumed that we have not banned it due to financial reasons.

Had he said, "Eff you, cancer" the meaning could still be parsed. Are you opposed the meaning of the word or simply the word itself?
