NO ONE hunts polar bears in Alaska except Natives and that has been the case for forty years. We are getting species of animals never seen in AK and the treeline is moving north all signs of warming

The glacer in alaska have been shrinking for 200 years but Unusually large amounts of winter snow were followed by unusually chill temperatures in June, July and August. (2007 to 2008). @sensless1mc The reason polar bear numbers are up is because sport hunting was banned in Alaska in the early 70s and restricted in Canada. Unrestricted hunting in the first part of the twentieth century were responsible for the low numbers.
