Damn My brain just melted. I want something as easy to use as window movie maker. I tried Kino but it cant import any of my cameras avi files, or any other files unless its a DV file. (i dont have any DV files) what else can i try?

Pinnacle Video Spin is a good one! Thats what i use. but i need a program with more effects.

It is very nice of you to make this "how to" video, but don't you think that is quite antiquate to use command line to edit videos? I tought that softwares progress to the future not to the past.

Don't confuse the sophistication of a computer program with the sophistication of the user interface. If you want a graphical frontend to ffmpeg, there are many available so you won't have to touch the command line. ffmpeg is not an antiquated tool, however. It is the most powerful and flexible audio and video transcoder available. It has a command line interface because it makes it even more powerful: it runs on more platforms, can be used in scripts, and is faster.
