  • I still have a soft spot for Batman forever...yeah it was part of the trajectory that led to Batman and Robin but you know...that wasn't inevitable. I liked Returns but I could see why people thought it too dark and I thought that adopting a more campy tone was another reference to Batman past. The first two were trying to recover the original dark origin of the character and this one was referencing the campy sixties show which is still a part of Batman history and should be recognised.

  • Jim Carrey Riddler? Awesomë! Favourite villians.

  • val kilmer was a great batman, more handsome and interesting than keaton clooney and bale. sorry but this was a good movie.

  • @kiddadd

    I agreed,

Kilmer feels like Bruce Wayne and batman the most,

Clooney feels like Bruce but not batman.

Keaton looks a little bit old and tired all the time.

Bale.....I just can't figure out why they want a British to play an American hero....

  • MAN-BAT RULES! I DONT CARE IF THAT SCENE IS DELETED, THE BEST SCENE OF THE FILM!!

  • Man-bAt rules

  • Batman = MICHAEL KEATON Rules!

  • 2:02.; I don't re-call that line in the movie.

  • for me val kilmer is the best batman

  • 0.57 illuminaty eye

    Coincidence?

  • what's the song that starts at 6:00?

  • As much as I love Christian Bale's Batman and would put him at the top spot in terms of live action Batman actors, Val Kilmer has something that Bale's Batman doesn't have...a cool believeable voice at Batman. Bale's Batman sounds like a 5 pack a day smoker trying to do his best Clint Eastwood impression. Val's voice is cool and confident and doesn't sounds like hes trying too hard to be intimidating.

  • As ridiculous as I think Batman Forever is, it is the best of the original four films.

  • Best Bruce Wayne = Christian Bale. Best Batman = Michael Keaton

  • @motivatdguy2000 no assle: Best Bruce Wayne = Michael Keaton. Best Batman = Michael Keaton

  • Val Kilmer is 2nd best to Christian Bale

Batman forever sucked, but Val Kilmer did a good job considering..

  • @darkstar3x16 No way in hell! I know everybody has an opinion but damn Kilmer was the second worst Batman ever (after George Clooneys abysmal performance)

  • @darkstar3x16

Val Kilmer was a decent Batman.; Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne was so-so.

  • @darkstar3x16

    Fuckk no..

Batman Forever was as good as the 1st one.

    Batman and Robin was bullshit.

  • @N2DEEP818 you're right about that. Joel Schumacher's first movie is sick, but the second one is shit.

  • Hereye Hereye! I declare this movie the beginning of the gayness in the original Batman series. The last 2 films in no way relate to the first 2.

  • Please note that i have nothing, i repeat, NOTHING! against Val Kimler but why is Micheal Keaton not in this movie as batman? (val kimler is an awsome actor but still....)

  • BATMAN= MICHAEL KEATON

    NUFF SAID!

  • I Lost Interest After This On, Not Because I Didn't Like It, Because Batman And Robin's Shit

  • val kilmer was the good in the movie, I like carrey but the plot was very hugo strange with the machine looking into thoughts. It was a decent flick and fun but it all when down hill in the second movie. They went too camp for that. If anything a good batman is a good detective that is aggressive and strict but melancholy also needs the day face of wayne. This movie had the humor that to this day the comics have but didn't go crazy with it until Batman & Robin came out which was fail no doubt.

  • I taped this special when it first came on and watched it numerous times to hype myself up for the movie.

  • The shittiest batman movie ever! Val Kilmer fucking sucked as batman! FAIL!

  • Comment removed

  • @ToXicTubeTV Just as I thought you don't think when you watch the film all you see is neon and over the top villains. You don't care about the actors performance because Val was a good Batman.

  • @DarkHeroesForever Jim and Tommy did an amazing job. Val just plain out sucked as Batman and Bruce Wayne. As Bruce he was to much of a pussy and as Batman he wasn't brutal enough. Batman is a tough badass brutal motherfucker and neckbrace Val didn't do a very good job.

  • @ToXicTubeTV First off, Tommy did a terrible job as Two-Face because he didn't play the comic book Two-Face I know. Second, Val Bruce was pretty much exactly the way Bruce was in the comics the fun rich playboy, going out with beautiful woman and brooding by his parents death, Val did exactly that. As Batman he may not be as tough as he was in the comics but he played it serious, unlike George Clooney who is more of the 60's Batman than Val.

  • @ToXicTubeTV Um, Bruce a pussy in this one? You do remember that this was the only movie of the original 4 that showed Bruce actually fighting the main villain's henchmen out of the batsuit. Now, I will say that that was completely out of character. But it was still kinda cool.

  • i prefer this to batman returns. returns was a bit dreary no real excitement to it.

    this is underrated bigtime.

  • As a kid this movie was good

  • @RedAvery1 Yeah... a lot of things were good back then.

  • los personajes creados por bob kane, representan esta dualidad que tenemos los humanos,y ala misma vez este deseo de ordenar, nuestras vidas y el mundo que nos rodea.

  • Val Kilmer has NOT aged very well

  • @skywings613 yeah it pains me so much, since I was in love with him for about 10 years.

  • @skywings613 LOL, you're so right. Kind of a shame too, I thought he was a good actor and was hoping to see more of him in bigger films

  • @skywings613 he has aged fine, he just let himself go

  • @skywings613 no shit. he looks like the penguin from the tv show!

  • @skywings613 The whole movie hasnt aged very well!

  • the only thing about the new batman movies i don't like is that there trying to make them to realistic at least these versions were very comicbook like just very gay acting

  • In hindsight, it seems like they were being sarcastic in this interview.lol. I miss the 90's soooo much! :P

  • When I was 15 and saw this it was barely ok. Now that I'm twice that age I see just how bad, horrible, terrible, and flat out horrific Batman Forever and Batman & Robin are. Just terrible terrible movies. I can't get across how bad these two movies are. Horrible, disgusting, freakishly horrific...aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

  • @lcromy You should see the serials! They're up on YT. Talk about bad... They make Batman and Robin look like Citizen Kane!

    -Joe E Dangerously

  • holy shit great upload,i never seen this

  • i agree batman forever was good i liked it but that is just my opinion

  • I don't care what anyone says, Batman Forever is not a bad movie.

  • Johnlindsey289: throughout Batman animation/games, yes Kevin Conroy was by far the best Wayne/Batman. No 1 can ever touch him. I was referring 2 the movies/live action Batman.

As far as looks (costume, facial expressions) go, best live action Batman:

    1. Keaton

    2. Bale

As far as looks (costume, facial expressions) go, best animated Batman:

    1. Batman TAS

    2. JL/JLU

  • I wonder if anyone can answer this question. Every actor but one has always used a black suit for their Batman Suit. Which actor was it that did not use the black suit?

    Here's a hint, think of Eve's partner.

  • @JustinBlottin Adam West!

  • @retrofann1

Correct. Good Guess. HIs was Blue and Grey.

  • @JustinBlottin Not a guess, I watched the old series when i was a kid and know for a fact, lol plus I am a little older than you.

  • @retrofann1

A little older than me huh. Curious. Your Age?

  • Movie was alright but it started going south after this and hasn't stopped.

  • when i was a kid this movie was not bad at all, and still to this day i could sit and watch it even though i may cringe from time to time. it was a fresh interpretation of the batman saga and it just brightened it up a bit, it was OK.....but batman and robin is an abomination and i cant even sit through the movie unless i have a bucket at my feet..this is my opinion :)

  • although michael keaton and kevin conroy are both the best live'animated batman

  • don't hate on forever...except for robin i thought it was badass val kilmer pulled it off

  • I thought Batman, Batman Returns was good, but Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were kinda wack. I only like Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight.

  • Batman Forever >>>>> Begins / Dark Knight <- modern shit

  • Comment removed

  • this movie sucked

  • as a kid...i loved this movie...jus cuz it was batman......i grew up watchin all the batman movies and i loved each one of em.....even batman & robin...but i mean as a kid, ur not gonna be interested in the plot of the movie as so much as u wanting to see batman kick some ass....now that im older ive seen that schumacher's movies made batman look too cartoonish and the whole "nipples" on the batsuit....crap.

  • those movies sure look cheap nowadays

  • WTF is this when did this movie come out

  • @milesaustin100 1995

  • @milesaustin100 1995

  • i didn't know the director was gay. That explains the nipples on the suits.

  • what a waste of a great actor in TLJones ... if they stuck to the original script Two Face could have been a dark killer and not a Jack Nicholson ripoff

  • these clips are better than the movie

  • Screw robbin

  • Wow , I don't think I've ever seen this. Batman Forever was the hight of Corny , Ham-fisted , popcorn entertainment. Fun memories. Big Thumb's up man.

  • i love batman forever

  • jim carrey stole the show

  • @TheAzraelKnight Originally Ridder was supposed to be Robin Williams.

  • @silverzhawk really? that would have been different. i hear he wants to play riddler in batman 3

  • but anyway is a exciting and funny comic book movie

  • Batman Forever doesn't get the respect it deserves. Seriously, it's a good movie. Quality classic comic book popcorn movie. Read the novelization of what it would be (if filmed perfectly) and it would've been the best of the four first Batman movies, easily.

  • @timtwoface Batman 1 was the best and Keaton is better than all that came after.

  • @timtwoface

It was alright but Batman and Robin was a total gay shitfeast.

  • @timtwoface I agree with one thing about it doesn't get respect. But to me the only reason people hate this film it's because they only see neon and over the top villain thats it. They don't really understand the darkest of this film and out of the four first films this is pretty much the only one that explains about Batman's character. Don't get me wrong I do like the Burton films but Burton's Batman is to mysterious and almost have no character. Batman and Robin is the only one we should hate.

  • @timtwoface Your fucking wack!

  • @timtwoface I just love it!! Its got this wonderful nostalgia thing going on when I watch it.

  • This was an awesome batman movie

  • werd the car was badass

  • was this actually meant to be a sequel to the other two, cause it feels like a restart

  • i like this movie, i think kilmer is a good bruce wayne and decent batman for what the director was going for

  • great movie, love Jim Carrey as riddler, robins cool but he could have been like his later verson on the animated verson of teen Titans, jim should have been joker, also like color sceams, like say, Joker, Rainbowish/all colors Riddler, green Tony Zucco (killed dicks family) Black. Peguln, Black and White Freeze, Blue.

and robin has many identiys, dick grayson, jason todd, tim drake, now bruces son, also thers girl robins

  • The Robin on Teen Titans is a different Robin. Dick Grayson becomes Nightwing, and gets killed. Tim Drake also dies.

  • jason died, nightwing became batman, tim is red robin as well

  • I'll look it up, I was pretty sure they both died.

  • @CaptainCheeseCurl dick grayson doesn't die. he becomes nightwing and eventually batman after bruce wayne dies

  • @CaptainCheeseCurl you dont know anything about batman at all. neither nightwing no tim drake died

  • @Xtremebyrd2k6 Yeah, sorry, looked it up already. I was wrong.

  • This is no way a great movie, but it's really fun!

Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey looked like they had a blast making this movie!

Tommy Lee Jones is my fav part of the movie!

  • Worst. Batman. Movie. EVER!

  • Batman forever was bad but Batman and Robin was by far the worst one.

  • highly agree

  • Forever was a hit when it came out.Bottomline.

  • @BeginnningoftheEnd Yeah but it got savaged by true batman fans and critics

  • I like Batman. I like Forever. So that "true" stuff doesn't mean anything. lol

  • @BeginnningoftheEnd It does matter to batman fans all over that the material be done right. dark like the Frank Miller and Bob Kane stories,Not that child friendly nonsense that was Forever and B&R

  • You obviously didn't read what I say. I've been into Batman for YEARS, comics, toys, movies ets. I'm a "true fan". I like Forever and think MILLER IS OVERRATED. So your opinion isn't 100% right.

  • @BeginnningoftheEnd You obviously don't listen. You say that "true" doesn't mean anything but you call yourself a "true" fan?. You like forever and think that Miller is overrated? the man who brought batman back into the comics with "the dark knight returns"after forever and B&R almost buried the character. please don't get me started on your comment that you have been into Batman for years, because your shooting yourself in the foot.

  • @harveyfilm wow you didin't listen to my comment did you.

  • @TheFuturecartoonist First of all I've read your comment en second what more is there to say I had mine opinion and you had yours. drop it.

  • MILLER SUCKS. Read it and weap. lol

  • @BeginnningoftheEnd dude really now your just being a asshole really sad.

  • You're the dick who can't get over people liking Forever. lol@you.

  • @harveyfilm lol "The Dark Knight Returns" was made in 1986 dude, Batman and Robing came out in 1997. The character was not brought back after Batman and Robin with the Dark Knight Returns, lol because it had already been written 10 years before. Forever and B&R were terrible though.

  • @Joker3797 I got the title mixed up it was The Dark Knight Strikes Again in 2000 but they used portion of The Dark Knight Returns to revive Batman Begins in 2005.

    Goyer,Miller and the Nolan Bros.

  • @harveyfilm I'm fucking tired of people hating this film this was one of the good batman films. There are some darkness in this film if you watch closely.

  • @TheFuturecartoonist Its a matter of opinion if you can't take criticism than jou got some growing up to do.

  • Comment removed

  • @harveyfilm I am grown up. What I'm just trying to saying that it is good in some ways sure there is neon lighting and over the top villains. But the movie focus on Bruce being haunted by his past and Dick wanting revenge on Two-Face that is what makes the film dark. Batman and Robin is just a toy commercial.

  • @ajames00012 I'm sorry, but that title belongs to batman & robin.

  • i assume u haven't seen batman and robin

  • @ajames00012

    Batman and Robin was worse.

  • 3:35

did she make a Cat Woman reference? lol

  • this is a good movie based on comics

  • BALE = best batman, best bruce , best bat-suit, and easily BEST VOICE.

  • I agree. Christian Bale is a VERY good Batman.

  • @BlckHrt141 Bale sucks especially with that stupid gargly voice he does.

  • @silverzhawk -shrugs.- To each his own.

  • @qwerrik LMAO! Bale is the worst especially with that stupid froggy voice he does.

Keaton was the best in my opinion.

  • @silverzhawk Keaton is good, but Kevin Conroy IS Batman!

  • @GomJabber11 Keaton is the best!

  • @retrofann1

Keaton may be the best, yes. But Clooney was the best looking. You have to at least admit that.

  • @JustinBlottin Cant admit that, i am not gay. LOL!

  • @retrofann1

What do you think of Kevin Conroy as Batman or Christian Bale?

  • @Johnlindsey289 dont know who Conroy is and Bale just stinks in my opinion especially when he does that stupid gargly voice of his. Sounds like Batman has throat cancer.

  • @retrofann1 Kevin Conroy voiced the Animated series batman retard

  • @retrofann1 It's actually out now that the gargly voice was Nolan's fault during post production. Bale initially used his BB Batman voice while filming TDK but Nolan played with the audio. As I said in another post, I hope he paid attention to the complaints and won't do it again for TDKR.

  • best batman/brue wayne (my opinion):

    1. Keaton - like Gorath said: Best stare, most intimidating, just pure gold. Bet Bat-voice too. 100%.

    2. Bale - Bat-voice or Bat-suit isnt as good as Keaton, but whos is? I still love them.

    3. Kilmer - Just cuz the movie wasnt great, doesnt mean anything. His performance was good.

I think overall, everyone's pain and emoton showed, in different ways of course & some may have shown it better than others. All the child actors did a good job with that 2.

  • I like that u have keaton on #1 no one evr gives enough credit, best ever.

  • @thetakeris4ever

What about Conroy from teh animated show?

  • Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Christian Bale were all terrific Batmen! (Except George Clooney)

But Batman creator, Bob Kane's favorite portrayal of the Dark Knight is Val Kilmer!

  • My list for best batman in order:

    1) Michael Keaton (Best stare, most intimidating, just pure gold.)

    2) Val Kilmer (did excellent job, very physically fit. Script just made his performance not as noticed)

    3) Adam West

    4) Christian Bale (Bat-voice is terrible. If he played Batman in BF or B&R everyone would say he sucked. His performance looks better than it is because of script.)

    5) George Clooney (everything about him sucked)

  • Best Bruce Wayne:

    1) Val Kilmer - If you just look at his scenes as Bruce w/ memories of his parents, you can see the pain and emotion, he's also the most suave, great Bruce.

    2) Michael Keaton - Also great, there was just something missing. I think it's that he isn't as brooding as he should be.

    3) Christian Bale - Pretty boring, he doesn't stand out, but he isn't bad as Bruce.

    4) George Clooney - Sucks balls as Bruce as well.

  • Best Batman movies in terms of enjoyment factor:

    1) Batman Returns - The most dark and gloomy Batman with the most adult themes. I enjoyed it the most as it was the best at portraying the darkness that is Gotham and Batman's life. Also had Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman!

    2) Batman - Great movie, just classic, no explaining needed.

    3) The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger made the movie. Great script also. Too bad Bale sucks.

    4) Batman Forever - Best Bruce, 2nd Best Batman.

    5) BB - boring

    6- B&R - ew

  • @CthulhuGorath

What do you think of the animated Batman movies like Mask of the Phantasm, Under the Red Hood, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker and Batman/Superman Public Enemies?

  • Val Kilmer was really good as Batman but the movie itself sucked so it didnt really matter.

  • what a shame jim carrey sucked as the riddler.

fact: tim burton would have done a better job on this. i doubt he'd have included the whole 'brain minipulation idea' - what a load of bull!

  • i know, he would of use more mind games

  • yeah, i agree. i loved tim burton's batman. removing him for schumacher to come in, is like chucking away a beautiful girlfriend for a fatarse!

  • Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Batman, and Batman Returns, These are the greatest Batman Movies of all time

  • @phoenixwright05 yes, the other two were terrible

  • @phoenixwright05 And hopefully Nolan's 3rd movie which comes out in 2012 will be included.

  • @phoenixwright05

What about Mask of the Phantasm, Under the Red Hood and Batman/Superman Public Enemies? those were great.

  • @phoenixwright05 What about Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Under the Red Hood, and Mask of the Phantasm? UTRH wasn't out a year ago, but the other two were. Besides, I disagree about Returns. Too campy. (in a goth way)

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx I half agree with you on Returns. If one really listens to the dialogue, yeah, it is almost as bad as B&R imo. Luckily, however (and unlike B&R), it was saved by the actors' performances. While watching these documentaries recently, I really wish now that WB had gotten Paul Dini and the other writers from BTAS to write the Schumacher movies. B&R was just bad. How the Batchlers and Goldsman became Hollywood screenwriters in the first place is beyond me.

  • @phoenixwright05 You forgot Phantasm -_-

  • Comment removed

  • @phoenixwright05 Batman Forever was good film too.

  • @phoenixwright05 and in this order...

  • why does Kidman look fuckin Hot in this interview?!

  • I really enjoyed Batman Forever =:-)

  • The first ever Batman film i saw :)

    For me the order goes

    1. The Dark Knight

    2. Batman Begins

    3. Batman

    4.Batman Forever

    5. Batman Returns

    6.Batman (1966)

and way downn Batman and Robin

  • Batman Forever and The Dark Knight are the two best IMO, best actors and best performances

  • 3 thumbs dwn lol hell no nolan is kiiling us. too many changes, he would be perfect 4 a batman BEYOND movie =P

  • Joel: So delicious in the comics

  • My favorite of the non-Nolan Batman movies.

  • probably cus this was the first batman movie i ever saw but i liked val kilmer the most for batman

  • yea he was good.i still love this movie as it was the first bat movie i saw.batman and robin sucked

  • Jim Carrey actually sounds like he took the character seriously here = o
