@dark0magic My GTX 560 Ti cost me $250. I can run Crysis 1 on max settings on 1920 x 1080 resolution. The PS3 would explode if it tried to run that. And Sony already said the PS4 won't be much more powerful. Sure there's the next Xbox, but 2 years later the newer graphics cards will have made that system obsolete.

And PC currently has and always has had the best library of games. You're console may have exclusive games but the PC has exclusive genres.

arr the days when an FPS game had a good single player without the need to make it an RPG. Dont get me wrong I love fps/rpg's but most pure fps's just dont really push the story front to the extent that the half life series did.

The pacing and story in the series is just spot on

Before playing Half-Life2 I used to hate, depise and loathe FPSs. On one of my birthdays a friend gave me The Orange Box, after he told me it was mostly FPS I smiled and thanked him, while thinking that I would never play it.

About 2 weeks later I gave it a chance mainly because of my friend, I sat down and started playing HalfLife2. Next thing I know I'm hungry and my eyes hurt. I had been playing it for 5 hours straight, utterly mezmerized by it.

Yeah I agree with that, the graphics definitely were better in the first game. At a distance it maybe looked better but they really didn't hold up under closer inspection. However I personally enjoyed the second game more, it had more direction but yes the levels were quite boring. You say the powers were way too easy but I liked it that better, it made combat faster and more fun - more befitting a supersoldier. But anyway, we clearly have vastly different opinions.
